Chapter 40- James Training

On his first morning of training, Warren took James out to a secret sparring location, in a lower floor of the Knight's Fortress.

  Warren chuckles.

"Damn, don't know how I didn't realize it earlier."

  James looks perplexed.

  "Realize what?"

  Warren chuckles again.

"The fact that my Aura is being constantly drained while near you."

"I probably have the best skills with Aura out of any currently living Knight other than Jermaine and I couldn't even realize how much your Aura had grown since we first met."

"Quite the anomaly, being able to steal people's Aura, usually people need to wait for their Aura reserves to grow naturally with age, but you're able to replicate the same effect in just around an hour with me."

  James goes wide-eyed.

  "That's so cool!"

  Warren lets out a laugh.

  "Yeah, it is."

"Well, I know what it is that we should train first, that passive draining of yours."

"Sorry to bring it up but it seems you could speed up the drain when you um..."

  "Aidan."

James bites his lip to hold back the tears.

Warren realizes James' bad mood and immediately gets more upbeat to cheer him up.

  "Alright!"

  "I have a question!"

  James perks up.

  "Yes sir!"

Warren perks up more in response.

"Can you even see how much Aura me or you have!"

  James sounds hesitates, still upbeat.

  "N-no sir!."

  Warren then looks very discouraged.

  "Oh yeah..."

"You didn't know about your Aspect..."

"Well, for the first bit of training, you'll need to learn how."

"So get comfortable on the floor and start meditating!"

"Focus on your body, if you start to notice an energy around yourself and in your body then you can sense your own Aura, that's the first step."

James wears a look of realization.

  "Ohhhhhhh..."

"Yeah I can do that already, I didn't know that was my Aura."

"And I guess that means that the smokiness around you is your Aura."

  Warren's jaw drops.

  "You can already see Aura?!?"

  "And other people's too?!?!"

"You just made my job a hell of a lot easier!"

"So we can skip the meditation, good.."

  "It's really boring."

"Okay, so you see how my Aura is kinda drifting toward you?"

  James nods.

"Try to create an imaginary wind or barrier that pushes my Aura away from you."

James closes his eyes to focus.

  "Yeah I can't do it."

Warren takes a deep breath, realizing that he's in for a long few months.

A week later, Warren takes James to where Laura is training.

"I want you to sit in the corner and try stopping your Aura from absorbing hers, this is the best way to do this, since her Aura'll probably be flaring up all over."

"So you have fun, I have to talk to Jermaine."

As he sits in the corner, him and Laura's Auras nearly intertwined, he begins to notice the two energies separating, like he's doing it subconsciously.

Later that day, when they're back in their private training area, Warren notices it, the separation.

"So, you found it out, eh?"

  James chuckles.

  "I guess so."

  Warren smiles.

"I guess we can get to the good part now. Try using one of your friend's powers."

James wakes up, Warren standing over him.

"So, you ready to surprise everyone today?"

  "All of you're sparring."

James wakes up fast, excited to see his friends.

"Finally! I can't wait to finally be able to spar with them!"
