Chapter 64- Hole From The Bottom

The only people left in the bar are the Knights present, the rumbling is only getting stronger, and everyone is prepared for a fight.

Asha and Edwin are escorting civilians to a safe place outside the city.

Aaron has pinpointed where the rumbling is coming from.

A courtyard in the Middle Ward, seemingly random, but the shape of the courtyard resembles an arena, perfect for a battle.

Aaron, James, Laura, and Darius are gathered in a square around the origin, ready for whatever comes up.

The rumbling keeps getting louder, more intense.

Until a giant crack forms in the ground, which opens like a mouth into the underworld, with a demon coming out.

A long, snake-like beast, longer than any building in the city is tall.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

It pulls itself up and out of the hole, flying into the air, long, large body twisting like a vine.

The group looks up in awe of the terrifying, yet beautiful beast.

But from the head of the beast, jumps a beast, just as intimidating.

Cyrus, standing tall despite his previous confinement stretches when he lands, sighing a bit.

"Not exactly where I wanted to come up, but it'll do."

He fixes his eyes on James.

"Time to see if the General was right about you."

His eyes become closer to that of a hungry predator than those of a human, before the pure elation is cut short.

Another thing comes out of the hole, a man.

The man flew out, faster than anyone could react, sweeping James away and outside the city walls within just a few seconds.

James is disoriented, but when he comes to, he sees a man, long hair flowing in the wind, grinning like he'd been waiting for decades to be free.

  Cyrus groans.

  "So close, yet so far."

He looks around, his eyes eventually stopping at Aaron.

"You're probably the next best option."

  He points at Aaron.

"Lets take this a bit further away, follow me."

Aaron follows, knowing the damage Cyrus could do from the stories he'd been told by Ferrul and by James.

This night will change lives, for better or for worse.
