Chapter Seventeen, Four Young Gods.

  Chapter Seventeen, Four Young Gods.

  ...

  ...

Jora tilted his head from side to side, cracking his neck.

Even in this soul form, he felt drastically weaker.

  It was unfamiliar.

"Listen children." A voice spoke from the side. He turned his gaze, not paying much mind to the group in the distance.

Ana was bowed over, speaking to the four young humans beneath her, their faces intently locked onto her.

"You are the first of a great dynasty. A great world. The first inhabitants of this planet, and the forbearers of civilization within this realm." She spoke sweet praises to the kids, a couple of them equipping prideful smirks.

"Soon, life will flood this place. It is up to you four to maintain this place. Care for the life that deserves care, and to slaughter that of which doesn't. It is your mission to get stronger. Grow more powerful. Evolve! Learn new things... Gain knowledge. To improve." She continued, the children listening intently.

"You are our young gods... Do us proud." She smiled, clapping her hands together. The first child, recoiled at that sound, annoyance filling his face.

Ana turned her head over her shoulder, glancing at Jora whom was entranced by his Status panel.

  "Jora." She called.

The man turned his head, raising a brow and meeting her eye. Seeing her expression, he reluctantly moved, walking over to the five.

Through the reasoning of Anaflandus being a lesser portion of his soul, he could understand her wants if he truly cared to know.

So having approached them, he knew what her intentions were.

"You." He spoke, pointing to the first child. "Eltaras." He spoke.

"You." He pointed to the next child. This one was a young girl. Her visage caught his eye, making him step back.

His eyes scanned over all four children, a thought emerging.

'They look like us...' He noted. The first boy looked like a miniature him. Scruffy black hair, slightly tanned skin, red eyes, and... An intimidating figure.

The second, looked similar to Anaflandus, long black hair, docile facial features, and a flat expression.

The third, was a cross between the both, a boy with long black hair, and a calm face, soft features, and pale skinned.

The last was another girl, chiseled, intimidating, and blessed with natural intimidation.

His gaze returned to the second girl, his finger extending.

"Ana'fae." He nodded, his companion raising a brow off to the side.

His vision landed on the second boy, the young man raising his head upwards.

"Kuta." Jora nodded, the boy nodding back.

He moved to the last, a smile emerging on the girl's face.

  He smiled back.

"Joriah." The girl chuckled happily, Jora giving the same response.

"Interesting... So interesting." He spoke, turning his back and walking back towards Ana.

"I am Anaflandus." She said, as he turned to face the children once more.

  "I am Jora." He added.

"Mother." A voice spoke up, Ana'fae.

  "Father!" Another shouted, Joriah.

The two boys exchanged looks, glancing back towards the two before them.

They both bowed, the two girls copying their actions just a moment after.

  Jora raised a brow.

'Why are they doing that?' He questioned.

'[Power Descend] and [Monster Production]. I had you pass down so much Intelligence and Capacity to guide it's growth. It can now pass down memories amongst other things with the additional levels.' Ana replied in his mind.

He pursed his lip, summoning a few screens.

Not too much of a change to the skill descriptions, but the implications were great.

The last child had indeed been created with fully blossomed Intelligence, prior to the descent of power.

'That doesn't fully explain why they are tilting their heads...' Jora answered, ridding the screens.

'It's one of my memories. Bowing is a sign of respect in some cultures, it seems they inherited that knowledge and muscle memory.' She clarified.

'Muscle memory? I thought you were a floating core.' Jora smiled.

'I've taken on many forms in my lives... Dungeon Cores can possess their creations. I'm sure you'll try it out eventually.' She nodded.

"We will now take our leave. Soon, creatures will filter in. They can be your herd, your food, your practice. Do with them as you wish. Just remember not to eradicate all of them. Diversity is better. Quality is great, but quantity is just as necessary." Ana spoke, the kids all nodding in synchronous.

She smiled, gripping Jora by the shoulder.

"Goodby-" The two were whisked away from the space, disappearing before Jora could finish his word.

Left behind were four human kids, and the beautiful scenery they resided in.

"Obviously, I am the best. My name is closest to father's. Therefore you all have to listen to me." Joriah, the lastborn spoke.

"Age equals authority. I am the leader." Eltaras rebutted.

"We have the same authority. We are four, meant to be seen as one." Ana'fae raised a brow.

"I agree. You two have seemed to inherit our father's madness." Kuta added.

"Disgraceful! Watch your mouth!" Ana'fae butt in.

"No insult meant! It is only fact! He is a wrathful demon!" Kuta lifted his hands in innocence.

"Shut up! Why don't we all do something! Like, let's fight! Or... I don't know what can we do right now?" Joriah yelled, her words turning into thoughtful question.

"Let's see who has the highest Attributes." Eltaras suggested.

  "Okay!" Joriah shouted.

The four seemed to be getting along well.

  ...

  ...

  ...

  ...

Jora awoke back in his body, his eyes staring at the slightly lowering sun.

"[Yes, you can move.]" Ana fired within his mind, a smile emerging on his body for the first time in hours.

Slowly, his torso lifted, his hands finding their way around the ground, helping him stand.

"Feels like it's been forever..." He spoke, hearing his voice.

"[It really hasn't, stop being exaggerative.]" Ana chimed in.

"Uh huh..." Jora ignored her. He stretched his body. That was the least amount of activity he had partaken in since his birth.

He twisted his trunk, cracking his back alongside every other joint he could.

As he did so, something bounced in front of him.

A grin emerged on his face.

  His hand struck outwards.

  But it met air.

He looked towards his right, seeing the rabbit continue to bounce by him.

"[Slow aren't you. That was funny.]" He could hear Ana chuckling within, and a small heat arose.

  "[Punishment.]"

A mass of meat was crushed into the ground, and a hiccup was heard in his mind.

"[Dumbass! Chill out! They're likely searching for you still! Don't do anything out of proportion! Nothing beyond D-rank! At best some simple spells, or half-assed skills!]" Ana shouted.

He dug a finger into his ear, as if he was trying to drill out the noise.

"Got it. My mistake O' Great Queen Anaflandus!" He laughed, striding over towards the corpse.

He whispered his favored and trademarked skill, consuming the corpse in one go.

He could feel the new and incredibly efficient movement methods of the rabbit, and he was glad he had consumed it.

His [Leap] had disappeared from his Status, replaced by [Flash Step], and there was a glaring difference in the two skills.

His muscle twitched, activating the skill with no sound.

He appeared a ways away, in a flash, very little sign of movement besides for the deep imprint of his foot where he had last been.

"[A movement skill common to B-rank damage dealers, or assassin and scout types.]" Ana narrated.

"To acquire it from a level two bunny is ironic." Jora spoke.

  "[Rabbit.]" Ana refuted.

  "Same difference." He sighed.

"[Stop the antics! Anyway. Please don't just eat everything! Eat what is worth eating! Something that you can actually gain from. Otherwise, send them into the Dungeon! This way you're getting mana and already developed creatures from the outside world without having to use our Management skills to waste your own mana... Oh! And let me expand the Dungeon while you hunt!" Ana interjected.

Jora raised a brow, sighing once more.

"I suppose... But if I get hungry I am eating." He answered.

  "[You're always fucking hungry!]"
