"fuck!!" He yelled but his girlfriend quickly covered his mouth with her arm, "mmmmmmmmm" he muffled but she placed a finger to warn him to remain silent, the thing behind them was dangerous and she had managed to figure out it had a vid vision and could barely see a thing.

  She carefully let her arms slip from her boyfriend's mouth then headed for the closest exit to them while the infected stood there motionless, it only moved once a single sound has been uttered, he was now getting his girlfriend ls idea, if he could reach for the door without making a single sound they were going to be safe, assured he slowly approached the door making sure he hadn't made a noise but a mistake was made, he stepped on a rusted metal underneath the metal floor of the factory the were in. Hearing the sounds the monster attacked him tearing him from limbs to limbs, his girlfriend on the other hand was forced to watch everything, she wanted to cry but could as it would bring upon her end, why was it always like this, why was her life so damn hard?, she thought mustering the courage to continue moving for the door which was shut tight. She had to make a gamble upon reaching the door, open it and quickly close it after she was out to avoid that monster from following her through or stay there with the monster, safe yes but always quiet. With this in mind her thiughts and answer were clear, "just a swift move right?"she thought. Taking a breath she forced the door open but could never make it to the other side as she had underestimated this monsters speed, it had caught up to her and her neck had been bitten, she could barely stay conscious, her breath slowly stopping with every breath.

  THE SILENT

  As soon as the sun rose Zack was was ready to move, he had already packed his things and was about heading out with smoke when Chloe called out to him.

  "I'm joining you guys, let's head to safety together" Chloe said, Zack was confused, he had thought Chloe had already made a choice to follow Dave back to altera but that wasn't the case now. Dave had already left earlier than they expected leaving Chloe behind but that was her choice, why did she stay behind.

  "Why?"Zack asked

  "Why what?" Chloe asked she didn't really know what he was thinking about and was confused on what to say

  "Why didn't you go with him, why did you stay behind?" Zack asked, he wanted to know why she had stayed behind and let Dave go back alone, why wasn't she with him, why was she still here?, Zack wanted answers

  "Cuz I want us to get my memories back together" she replied, her respond made Zack smile he tucked his hands into his pockets then faced forward diverting his attention towards the road away from her

  "Ok then......., let's get going" Zack smirked opening the door of the apartment building. Luckily the infected outside the build had already listed Interest on the preys in the building and has left earlier that very day.

  "My the only one whose concerned about the highway being so fucking empty?" Smoke asked, they were now on a highway which led heading for a city so close to the one they had escaped from. Normally the highways were the busiest place always filled and infested by the infected, but from their point of view not a damn infected had been seen since they got in the highway, it made smoke feel uneasy, not just him Zack and Chloe still fly the same, the highway sent an eerie feeling around them.

  "Afraid it ain't just you pal, somethings off, and not just off, I mean I mean off off" Zack responded elaborating on the 'off' word.

  "Somethings here .........., I don't know what it is but I can feel it ......., there's an infected here, an infected not quite like the one we've encountered"Chloe announced, her abilities had grown since she lost her memories and as she regained it, little of it she understood she could locate an infected, she could feel them from some meters away, she was sure she had felt this before but this time it felt both familiar and different for reasons she couldn't comprehend or understand.

  "How do you know that?"smoke asked, he had never knew Chloe had such ability and was completely shocked and surprised by her reply

  "I can sense them.........., also an ability I got after being bitten" she explained her gun gripped tightly on her arm while she and the crew continued their trek down the highways.

  "You sure there's something here?, I mean my eyes can't see a damn thing here"smoke Said again following Chloes lead

  "Trust me, there is......... you'll see soon" Chloe said as she stopped moving

  "Get down"Chloe ordered coaching over behind a car but Zack and smoke were too confused to do the same, they weren't seeing anything but Chloe claimed there was an infected on the highway

  "Get the fuck down......now" Chloe whispered forcing them both on their knees as they did the same behind her.

  She was right, there was something on the highway, this they realized hearing a growl and hearing footsteps at the opposite side of the car. This infected wasn't normal, they weren't huge but they had very sensitive ears one so sensitive it could hear little noises made from anything. Chloe knew this but how did she?, she still had a lot of unanswered questions about her's but first she had to survive in order to find out how she did, she he really was and why she always had dreams of a large hospital.

  "Don't speak" Chloe signaled using signs, she knew they'd understand, they always did, and she was right.

  "Why?" They signaled back confused

  "It can hear anything, if you do speak, you'll die instantly, they don not have great eyesight an make up for that with their ears......, we have to crouch our way out of here without making a single noise"Chloe signaled an explanation

  "How do you know that?" Smoke signaled his arms stretched as a gesture for 'i don't know'

  "I don't know......., I just kinda know I know" Chloe closed her eyes as she started moving.

  They were now able to stand knowing the thing in front of them didn't have any vision, one step at a time then those were all they could think about while they carefully passed through the cars and avoided stepping on any thing that could likely make a sound.

  But Soon things took a bad turn, smoke accidentally stepped on some shattered glass.

  "Grrrrrrrrrrrrrek"the monsters growled rushing towards smoke, it had caught up to him and had him pinned on the floor, the only thing keeping smoke alive was the shotgun he had placed in between its mouth while it still tried to get a bite out of him.

  "Help....fuck, help me!" Smoke yelled still struggling to get free from the monsters hold but as he struggled a gunshot was heard and the monster fell on the floor it's head lying right besides smokes. If was Zack, he had made the shot, he had waited for the best time to shit making sure he wouldn't hurt smoke on the process.

  "Perfect timing............, too perfect in fact" smoke mocked getting up while wiping off the monsters blood from his body.

  "C'mon I mean we don't want you getting hurt right?" Zack laughed helping smoke clean up, but while they did this Chloe remained motionless, she was feeling a lot of presence around them, same as she did with the infected they had just killed, it wasn't just one, not two, not three, but almost twenty of them.

  "We have to move now" Chloe suggested walking hastily

  "Chloe what's going on" Zack asked, Chloes expression told him something was happening, he had seen that look before, once when they were outnumbered by the infected some weeks before they found smoke. Was it the same as it was now? He wondered

  "On the move!, if we don't move now we're gonna die!!, there's more......more of em and they're all heading this way" Chloe informed running

  "Oh crap" Zack muttered following behind, he could feel the stomps of he infected on the floor as they approached them.

  "What do we do?"smoke asked huffing while still trying to keep close to his friends who were alittle faster and ahead of him

  "We get a car, we have to get a car.........., something fast"Chloe responded.
