Chapter 15: Fair Lady in White

The White Gaze was Prefessor Elain’s true name, if that wasn’t obvious already.

Unsurprisingly, the name became synonymous with her escpeades as an awakened.

Her tales weren’t the only memorable thing about her.

Elaina was the embodiment of feminine charm: while being an individual who has experienced most of the world's substantial events, she looked like she was still prime youth: around mid 20’s or so.

The most striking feature was her pristine milky hair, and eyes that looked like they were blessed by the heavens themselves.

A subtle but enchanting hue of white light emanated from them.

It was quite enchanting; Mahito couldn’t help but get absolutely lost in the realm in which emphemirality that her set of peepers held.

“Is there something I can help you with, young man?”

  “Ahh, yes. About that.”

Mahito already went into this knowing that this whole operation could end up becoming a flop.

He was contemplating using “that thing” to boost his odds.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

“My apologies for my intrusion, Professor Elaina. For starters, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Mahito: a newly awakened Sleeper, and I was hoping to ask abou..”

“Sorry, I’m gonna have to stop you there, kiddo. Unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to teach you in which you pursue to learn. I implore you to find a more fitting doctrine to chase than mine.”

  …

Just as suddenly as his conversation with his potential mentor started, it just as quickly ended.

It looks like this was going to be a bit more complicated for the youth then it was expected to be.

“May I ask why you came to that conclusion so quickly, professor?”

“I suppose I could indulge you. For starters, I am a woman who only teaches those of a certain pedigree, and you’ve yet to show any prospect even close to fitting the mold in which to begin. Secondly, even if I were to train you, You do not have the strength of character needed to be able to effectively honor the curriculum of this certain program. Third andfinally, the most important reason is that you’re attached to “that” man. You of all people should know the reason why following that drivel is a bad idea.”

Thoughts as pointed as briars; That is definitely an attributed quality of The White Gaze.

Even so, her being able to state everything so matter of factly with the straigtest of faces was still a very impressive feat.

  I guess that's it…

Mahito doesn’t really see how he could realistically convince Elaina to beckon to his whims, so I guess he has to give up…
