On a stormy sea, also around two months ago, two ships were locked in naval combat. Cannonballs were loaded and fired, flying through the rainy night before hitting the water. Huge splashes were sent upwards upon impact, soaking both ships decks.
Inside the smaller ship, a girl a bit older than Kaelon with short black hair was atop the crow's nest. She watched as the conflict went on, a sour expression on her face. Her name was Vaelora, daughter of Pontus, God of Wind and Storms.
Originally from Windstone, she lived a regular life. Her mother had raised her as best she could but passed unfortunately early on. Left alone, Vaelora became a vagrant. She lived on the docks, stealing from incoming merchants and pirates alike.
It wasn't long before her actions caught up with her. A pirate crew passing by didn't take kindly to her antics. They captured and beat her, leaving her in a cell below deck with plans to sell her off later.
Luckily that didn't happen, insted their ship was sunken by another pirate crew shortly after leaving Windstone. Vaelora took advantage of the chaos and pretended to be an ordinary pirate instead of a prisoner.
She snuck aboard the attacking ship and mixed in among their recruits. They didn't even realize what she'd done. A few months later and she had become the navigator's apprentice, her natural instinct for wind standing out.
The crew was locked into combat now, the ships coming close enough for the enemy to board. Vaelora watched from above as a bloody battle began. Pirates weren't elegant fighters, they used every means at their disposal to kill their opponents. A savage picture was painted on the deck as blood splattered.
She crouched behind the wall of the crow's nest, trying her best not to be seen. The battle was taking a turn for the worse and her crew was losing. Her heart was beating out of her chest and she felt her adrenaline pumping.
Ever since joining this crew, Vaelora had felt a growing love for the life of pirates. She enjoyed the freedom that came with it, feeling truly free for the first time. The feeling of the breeze on her face as they sailed always out a smile in her face.
Now that life was about to fall apart. The crew she had come to enjoy being a part of was being exterminated. Right in front of her eyes she saw her fellow recruits being cut down. Tears welled jn her eyes but she hardened her resolve. She had survived this exact situation before, she could do it again.
She stood up with a look of resolve, her fist clenched. At that moment, her Divinity finished its awakening. Her hair went from black to a dark blue and she felt something well up in her soul. Reaching for that sensation, a gold cutlass appeared jn her grasp. It's edge crackled with electricity and intricate symbols marked its flat.
The storm suddenly stopped, the rain stagnating. Thunder still echoed from the clouds but it wasn't hostile. A crooked grin appeared on Vaelora's face and she raised her cutlass. She jumped down the crow's nest, landing in the middle of the enemy crew. A lightning bolt came crashing down along with her, drawn to her cutlass.
Upon impact, the lightning bolt struck. Electricity spread through the enemy pirates as they shook and convulsed. A fire began to spread from the spot she had landed. In the blink of an eye the enemy was completely destroyed and their ship was burning.

Wide eyed gazes were all ponted at Vaelora, the cutlass in her hand still crackling with electricity. Cheers broke out among the remaining pirates, the veterans of the crew had mostly died in the battle. What remained were a few officers and the youngsters, the recruits. Even the captain had perished in this battle, leaving them without a leader.
Standing at the center of attention, Vaelora looked around at the remaining crew. Her eyes shone with a faint blue light as she spoke.
"What are you all looking at?! Huh?! We have no time to stand around?! Get your shit together and board the enemy ship! Ours is done for!"
The crew didn't hesitate to follow her order and they jolted into action. It wouldn't take long for them to gather their things and leave behind their burning ship. Vaelora took this time to scout out the enemy ship they wanted to board.
Walking on its deck she rummaged through some barrels finding provisions and supplies. Below deck was more storage and a few cannons sticking out of port holes. Finally she made her way to the captain's quarters. She didn't knock on the door before swinging it open.
Inside, behind a desk, sat the caltain of the enemy crew. He was piss drunk and didn't even seem aware of his crew's demise. Looking up with a dazed expression he examined Vaelora. A sick smirk creeped onto his face as he spoke, slurring his words.
"...They sent me a woman? My crew isn't all bad after all."
He staggered up and sauntered over to Vaelora with a predatory look on his face. He reached for her with a hand, aiming for her throat. Vaelora watched his approach with a cold look in her eyes. As soon as he got close enough she stabbed her golden cutlass into his heart.
The man let out a few grunts, that sick expression still on his face. He fell to the floor, dead, blood pooling below his body. Vaelora paid him no mind ad walked up to his desk.
She grabbed the captain's hat from the desk and put it on, a satisfied smile on her face. At that moment, the surviving officers of her crew appeared at the door. They looked at her seated at the captain's desk, wearing the captain's hat, a smirk on her face.
A brave man among them stepped directly up to Vaelora. He looked down at her and asked a singke question.
"What, are you the captain now?"
Vaelora looked up ag the man, and returnesd a single question. A smirk still in her face as she spoke.
"Yeah I am. You have a problem with that?"
Her grip on the cutlass tightened, ready to fight at any moment. The man saw this and remembered the scene of lighting crashing down on their enemies. His face paled a little and he took a step back.
"No, I'm smart enough to know my limits. As long as you don't lead us to our deaths I don't care who the captain is."
The other officers nodded at his words, backing down completely. Even her former teacher, Nave the navigator, bowed his head in front of her. They filtered out of the room. leaving Vaelora to her own devices.
Watching them leave Vaelora let out a sigh of relief. Without their acknowledgement, she couldn't become the captain smoothly. Now that she had received it, order on the ship could be established easily.
That night Vaelora went to sleep in fhe captain's quarters. In her dreams she saw a crystalline symbol that looked like a flowing breeze. As quickly as it appeared, it disappeared, and she was suddenly above rolling clouds.
A man stood in front of her, a carefree expression on His face. His hair was a dark blue, the same color as Vaelora's now that her divinity awakened. He waved as He walked up to her.
"Vaelora, it's great to finally meet you. I am your father, Pontus God of Wind and Storms."
A stunned expression appeared on Vaelora's face. She had never known anything about her father, not a name, what he looked like, where he met her mother, etc. Meeting the man's eyes, she felt their connection.
"Holy shit!"
Pontus' smile widened, He laughed at her surprised face.
"Where else would that cutlass come from? I gave it to you when you were a child for when your Divinity awakened."
Vaelora nodded, not really understanding Hus words.
"That does make sense, only a God could make something so powerful appear out of no where."
Pontus nodded, agreeing with her.
"Indeed only someone as great as me could do something like that. Anyway, I was only dropping by to meet you. Goodbye for now, I'll be watching over you."
As his words fell Vaelora drifted back into regular sleep. A smile on her face as she dreamt of her future.
