Doughnut-making wasn’t exactly easy, but Kabe was so good at it that he was able to figure out what parts of the process I could do the most easily as a beginner while he did the more difficult parts, and so the 2 of us were able to get lots of doughnuts made in a pretty short amount of time, and there was also lots of non-doughnut food and lots of drinks that were available to us in the doughnut-making room; and so after a while the day was over, and Kabe and I had both made lots of doughnuts and eaten plenty of food and drank plenty of liquids; and so now we were both pretty tired and ready for some sleep, and there were 2 beds in the room; and so Kabe and I were then soon both asleep after our first day of being forced to make a bunch of doughnuts…; and while I was asleep I had a dream, and this is how the dream went:
I woke up, and I was back at home in my own bed, and I happily realized that I hadn’t actually been captured by the Dreaded Doughnut Dropper!…
Woohoo!…
And so now it was time to actually begin my day without all of the nonsense of free newspapers and doughnut-hurling madness!…
And so I got up, and then I had a very nice breakfast; and then I grabbed my walking stick and headed out to do some wonderful hiking!…
And my hiking went really well, until suddenly! a voice said, “Halt!…” and I could hear that the voice was a little ways in front of me, and so that meant that if I simply kept on walking forward on the winding path that I was on then I would probably get to where the person who had spoken was standing…
But did I want to get to where the person who had spoken was standing?…
I mean, the person had said, “Halt!…” and perhaps the person had said “Halt!…” for a good reason?…
Hmmm…
And so then I decided to stop walking forward, and then I said, “Why are you saying that I should halt?…” and then the person said, “Because this path is not open to the public at the moment…” and then I said, “And why isn’t it open to the public at the moment?…” and then the person said, “I can’t give you that information…
And so if you decide to continue walking forward then you will face consequences, but if you turn around and avoid this path then you will not face consequences…” and then I said, “And what kind of consequences would I face if I were to continue walking forward?…” and then the person said, “Not deadly consequences, but also not insignificant consequences either…” and then I sighed and said, “Well, I suppose that I’ll just turn around then…” but then suddenly! I heard a voice yell, “Help!…” and then I got very angry and said, “You’re committing villainy, aren’t you?!?…” and then I ran! forward!; but, unfortunately, I didn’t get very far because I then fell into a hole that had been dug and had also been covered to disguise that it was a hole!…; and so then I was now falling, falling, falling, down, down, down into the hole!…; and after a while of falling I began wondering how it was even possible that this hole could go so far down!…; but then eventually I finally splashed! into some water!; and then I quickly figured out how to get out of the water and onto some land that was near the water; and then I looked around at my surroundings; and I could see that there was a torch that was providing light to me, and there was also a path that presumably went on for a while and would lead me to somewhere; and so then I began walking towards the path, and it turned out that the path did indeed go on for a while; and so I was able to continue walking down the path for a pretty long time…; and then eventually I reached a room where there was a person who was sitting next to a board game; and then the person who was sitting next to the board game said, “If you can defeat me at this board game then I can show you how to get home…” and then I said, “And what if you defeat me at this board game?…” and then the person said, “Ah, yes…

Good question!…
And so if I manage to defeat you at this board game then you will become trapped in this room for all of eternity…” and then I said, “And what if I simply refuse to play the board game?…” and then the person said, “Refusing to play the board game will mean that you won’t be getting home any time soon, but it’ll also mean that you won’t necessarily be trapped inside of this room for all of eternity either…” and then I said, “Hmmm…
And what are the rules of the game?…” and then the person explained the rules of the game to me, and it then became pretty clear to me that the game was one where I would probably be at a pretty huge disadvantage because this person who was talking to me probably knew the best strategies and would most likely defeat me quite easily…; and so then I said, “I guess I probably shouldn’t play the game right away; because the cost of me losing would be so high, and the likelihood of me winning would probably be so low…” and then the person said, “The decision is yours to make, and so it is what it is…” and then I said, “And so what happens now?…” and then the person said, “What happens now is that you and I wait in here until the next person arrives, and then once the next person arrives I will offer that person an opportunity to play this game with me…” and then I said, “And will I be allowed to offer that person advice and information?…” and then the person nodded and said, “That will be fine…
Though if the person accepts your advice and information then you will have influenced their behavior in a way that could possibly have been negative…” and then I said, “I suppose that that’s good for me to consider…
And so why can’t you just let me out of here even though I haven’t defeated you in this game?…” and then the person said, “I’m not the leader of this operation, and if I were to break the rules then I would be punished…
And so it is what it is as far as that goes…”
And then suddenly! I woke up from the dream!; and now I was back in the doughnut-making room with Kabe…
