The golden light of the sun has just started illuminating the world in a bright, warm hue as everything returns to its mencholy routine. Far away from the busy Shanghai, the quietness of the water surrounded town was disturbed as a deep-red Ferrari roared to life in a penthouse which is a mixture of ancient beauty with the attractive features of the modern world. The Ferrari left the penthouse’s grand entrance and hit the roads, heading in the direction to Shanghai leaving behind the serene atmosphere. As Ferrari heads forward, the temperature inside it is a few degrees less than the warm outside. Despite the cold interior, the driver couldn’t help but wipe the cold sweat from his forehead as he gnced at the rearview mirror which reflected the cold amber eyes. The driver shook his head, concentrating on the road once again while making a mental note to stay calm. The bck interior combined with the cold air blowing inside the Ferrari, makes one easily shiver yet the person sitting in the passenger seat looks unbothered and even colder than the air condition inside. The person had sharp features with a pair of amber eyes with gold rimmed gsses and thin red lips. They adjusted the gss before concentrating on the file being shown by the person sitting beside them. Silence prevailed as they looked at the words mentioned in the document, analysing and assessing the benefits. Finally, they leaned back on the seat with their legs crossed. They gestured to the person beside them to take the file back. The person beside them couldn’t take their silence anymore and decided to break it.

  “Mr. Yan, what’s your view on this colboration?” The person beside asked

  Mr. Yan stayed silent for a while before asking the person beside “My view? What do you think it would be Mr.Liu?”

  Mr.Liu expected something like this so he said “Even though it's not a desirable colboration, it might greatly benefit us”

  Mr. Yan mocked “Benefit us? You want me to work with such a person just for our benefit?”

  Mr.Liu sighed clearly knowing what the other person was thinking. So he didn’t press much on this anymore.

  Suddenly Mr. Yan smirked as he said, “Since the Government wants us to colborate with him so much, let’s just work together and get the most benefitted when fate is giving me a chance to bring him to his downfall.”

  Mr.Liu shook his head clearly knowing that this colboration is something which is much more intense than it looks on the surface as two powerful, por opposite conglomerates will be signing a contract for merger.

  Mr. Yan asked him, “Do you think I can bring him to his downfall this time if I follow my current pn?”

  Mr.Liu looked at him in disbelief, not knowing what to say but somehow managed to utter, “I don’t know about it”

  Before Mr. Yan could say anything, the Ferrari came to a stop as the driver announced in a little voice, “Sir, we have reached the destination.”

  Mr. Liu was quick to respond as he got out of the car, went to the other side to open the door. Mr. Yan nodded towards the driver as his polished bck shoe was the first to touch the ground as he emerged out of the car in his usual bck and white formal suit with gold rimmed gss which couldn’t hide the coldness behind those amber eyes.

  Mr. Yan looked around observing the surroundings which were so busy with people hurrying to work. He looked up at the tall building in front of him which looked elegant and grand. He snickered when he noticed the big letters on the building which read, Long Corporation.

  Long Corporation is a pharmaceutical conglomerate which has monopolized the pharmaceutical world for a long time, making them well known to everyone in the country. Despite them being well known, no one had seen the person behind such a successful conglomerate, making people intrigued about the identity of the one who runs and holds power over the whole pharmaceutical business in the country. People have various specution about who might be one behind Long Corporation but no one could guess that the real person behind was actually someone who’s young but holds a secret far beyond human’s understanding.

  Mr. Yan entered Long Corporation with brisk, measured steps as his hair and coat danced with the warm morning breeze. He waited in the lobby while Mr. Liu went to the reception to enquire about the meeting venue. He was looking outside through a gss window so he didn’t notice the change in the atmosphere around him.

  As Mr. Liu was investigating the venue, everyone started standing up to greet as a tall figure with a strong build and sharp features walked inside in a dark blue suit with matching brooch. The person gestured for others to settle down as his honey coloured eyes fell on the bck suited figure standing near the long gss window.

  The receptionist quickly came to his side to say something when he lifted his hands to silence her as he gnced at Mr. Liu standing behind her.

  He turned towards Mr. Liu, saying “Welcome to Long Corporation, Liu Zhong! You could wait at the meeting room at the top floor while I escort your CEO personally”

  Liu Zhong frowned while the receptionist gasped, trying to say something once again only to get silenced by his gre. She quickly returned to her pce resuming her work.

  Liu Zhong was not happy about the words he heard just now. So he stood in front this tall figure saying “It’s so polite of you, Mr. Long but I don’t think it’s appropriate of you to escort my CEO personally”

  Mr. Long shook his head while pcing his hands on Liu Zhong’s shoulder saying “You’re still the same. Protective of your CEO”.

  He moved closer to Liu Zhong whispering “Don’t worry much as I won’t hurt someone with whom I need to colborate for the time being. Rest assured and get going to the meeting room while I have a nice talk with your CEO”

  Liu Zhong refused to budge yet Mr. Long gestured for the receptionist to escort him to the meeting room.

  After the receptionist escorted the reluctant Liu Zhong away, Mr. Long walked towards the corner where that bck suited figure was standing oblivious to his surroundings.

  As Mr. Yan enjoyed the view outside through the gss window, he suddenly caught a whiff of cold sandalwood. His eyes glistened with cold mischievousness which quickly vanished behind those cold amber eyes as the sandalwood smell grew stronger. He didn’t turn around as he asked the person standing behind him looking through their reflection on the gss window.

  “What’s the great CEO, Mr. Long, Long YuZhou doing here? Standing behind to attack me?”

  Long Yuzhou’s honey coloured eyes darkened as he growled lowly just enough for Mr. Yan to hear. Mr. Yan didn’t flinch hearing that inhumane growl but continued to provoke him.

  “CEO Long is really vengeful. I can see how much you hate my presence here but I can’t help it either as it’s the Government who wants us to colborate together”

  Long Yuzhou's face darkened more yet he couldn’t do anything in public. He patted Mr. Yan’s shoulder hardly, faking a smile as he started walking towards the lift with Mr. Yan beside him.

  “Yan JiuHeng! Don’t try to act smart and show your wicked side to me. It makes me so sick that I itch to snap that beautiful neck of yours” Long Yuzhou said as they waited for the lift to arrive.

  Yan Jiuheng smiled but it didn’t reach his cold amber eyes while saying “Long Yuzhou, just because you are older than me doesn’t mean I’ll stay while you try something against me.” He leaned towards Long Yuzhou whispering “I could have already made a move against you even before you think of attacking me. I’m not a weakling like you think of me”

  Long Yuzhou gritted his teeth and before he could say anything the lift arrived and Zhu Jiuheng was the first to get in followed by him. He pressed the button to the st floor making the door close.

  As soon as the doors closed, the air inside the lift shifted as Long Yuzhou pinned Zhu Jiuheng against the walls of the lift, gripping his neck tightly.

  “Don’t provoke me as I won’t tolerate your nonsense.” Long Yuzhou gritted as his grip tightened around Zhu Jiuheng’s neck. Zhu Jiuheng didn’t lose composure as his lips still held that smirk as he said “Go on and kill me, I’m not afraid of either you or death”.

  Long Yuzhou moved closer to Zhu Jiuheng’s neck as his eyes turned into a golden slit, his skin turning red scaled, his fangs inches away from biting into his neck yet in a nick of a moment he caught a whiff of something simir to the scent of saffron, making him pause as his grip loosened.

  Zhu Jiuheng clearly felt his killing intent but he didn’t flinch or not even an ounce of fear surfaced. He inhaled deeply as he felt the grip was loosened but not letting go. “What happened? Can’t do what you wanted so much?” He provoked him despite being in a choke hold.

  Long Yuzhou ignored his words as his features returned to normal as he moved closer to his neck, sniffing them, to check if that saffron smell a moment ago was real or his illusion. But to his disappointment, he couldn’t smell the saffron scent as all he could smell was the musky cologne.

  Zhu Jiuheng realised something and quickly pushed Long Yuzhou away, fixing his disheveled look while scolding, “What are you? a dog? Sniffing me like that. You creepy pervert”.

  Long Yuzhou was in a daze that he didn’t hear words as his mind wandered far away. Suddenly the lift came to a stop with a heavy shake that made Long Yuzhou stumble upon Zhu Jiuheng as their lips crashed unexpectedly. Before they both could recover from the shock, the lift door opened as a loud gasp could be heard.
