Announcements. Rewrite.

  Hello everyone,

After taking a long, honest look at the direction of the story, I’ve come to a difficult but ultimately exciting decision. When I stepped back and reviewed what I had written so far, I realized that the narrative was drifting toward a place that didn’t feel true to the vision I originally had. Instead of feeling energized by the path ahead, I found myself increasingly dissatisfied with the foundation I had built. The Quin-Force, which is supposed to be one of the central pillars of the setting, currently reads more like an afterthought than a defining force that shapes the world, the conflicts, and the characters. That alone is a major red flag, because the power system should feel inseparable from the story’s identity, not something that could be removed without consequence.

Beyond that, the character interactions aren’t landing the way I want them to. They feel functional rather than meaningful—more like placeholders moving the plot forward than people with distinct voices, tensions, and relationships. I want conversations that reveal motive, culture, and ideology; I want alliances that feel earned and conflicts that carry emotional weight. Right now, too many exchanges feel flat, and that’s not acceptable for the kind of story I’m trying to tell.

The worldbuilding also needs significant expansion. The setting should feel layered and lived-in, with history, structure, and texture that influence how events unfold. At the moment, too many elements feel half-developed, and the scale I’m aiming for isn’t properly supported by the detail on the page. Reactions to major events, especially, have been coming across as shallow or rushed when they should instead convey the magnitude of what’s happening. When something world-shaking occurs, the response, political, social, and personal—needs to reflect that weight.

This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.

Because of all this, I’ve decided not to patch things piece by piece but to undertake a full rewrite of the entire story. This isn’t a small adjustment; it’s a complete reconstruction designed to align the narrative with the depth, cohesion, and intentionality it deserves. The goal is to ensure that the Quin-Force is fully integrated into the mechanics of the world, that character dynamics are deliberate and layered, and that the setting itself feels as complex and consequential as the plot.

Here’s the plan going forward. By March 15th, I will have the first nine chapters fully rewritten and reposted on Royal Road. These won’t be light edits, they will be structurally and tonally revised to reflect the new direction. Once those chapters are live, I will be taking a two-week hiatus. During that time, I’ll be stockpiling additional chapters so that I can maintain a consistent and reliable release schedule going forward. Consistency is important to me, and I want to make sure I’m not posting at a pace that compromises quality.

After the hiatus, the story will resume with a new upload schedule: one chapter per week, every Friday at 3:00 A.M. This cadence will allow me to maintain the level of detail and polish I’m aiming for while also giving readers a predictable release window. I will also be preparing to open a Patreon once the backlog is established, so that there’s a stable buffer between what’s written and what’s published.

I know rewrites and pauses can be frustrating, especially for those of you who have been following along from the beginning. I appreciate your patience more than I can properly express. My priority is to deliver a story that lives up to its potential rather than pushing forward with something I know falls short of what it could be. Thank you for sticking with me, for reading, and for caring enough about the project that this kind of overhaul feels worthwhile.

I’ll see you back on March 15th with the new chapters so stay tuned.

  Yours truly, Zaggy.
