Chapter 25: The Death of Lucas

It was truly a disaster; Master Jenna’s idea made Jyu shiver. Fighting thousands of mystical creatures was the same as committing suicide.

“Master, I think it’s time for us to return to the DV Army headquarters,” said Jyu.

“No! Your injuries aren’t too severe. You only need a little meditation, and you’ll recover. We’ll do this training tomorrow!” Master Jenna replied firmly.

This was Master Jenna’s nature—extremely stubborn. Whatever she had decided had to come true. It was indeed true that Jyu’s decision to challenge his teacher earlier had been a mistake.

“Sizhi, how long are you going to keep sleeping? Let’s just run away from here,” Jyu muttered in frustration.

Then Master Jenna walked into the hut. “I’m going to sleep. Get some rest soon because tomorrow we’ll train hard.”

Jyu was still sitting near the campfire while staring at the prison of mystical creatures. It was still clear they were fighting and trying to escape. Truly a terrifying sight!

“How foolish I was to challenge her earlier. If it’s like this, whether I like it or not, I have to go in there,” Jyu still looked annoyed.

Tomorrow would be a very tough training day for Jyu and Sizhi. Sizhi might even scold Jyu. It was easy to imagine how shocked he would be when he woke up and discovered the brutal training waiting for him.

  “Ah, damn it!” Jyu shouted.

  ---

The night seemed to pass very quickly. Jyu woke up feeling weak, as if he had just slept a few minutes ago. He and Sizhi still looked extremely sleepy, but Master Jenna was already very enthusiastic to welcome the day. She had even forced Jyu and Sizhi to do light exercise on the beach.

“Come on, wake up quickly. We have to exercise for a warm-up.”

“Your training today will be really tough.”

Of course, these words made the quiet Sizhi immediately protest. “What training again today? I’m still tired!”

At that very moment Master Jenna immediately stared at Sizhi with a cynical look. “Don’t be spoiled, you rich kid! Today, we will enter the prison and beat up all the mystical creatures.”

It was truly ridiculous! Sizhi, still sleepy and eyes not fully open, was immediately shocked. He suddenly stood up with his eyes wide open and desperately wanted to protest.

“Come on, Master! I haven’t recovered yet, don’t start training like that right away. There are thousands of monsters in there, how could I possibly fight them? Fighting just one monster made me faint!”

“Bme Jyu. He’s the one who came up with this training idea,” Master Jenna expined very casually.

Of course, this became a disaster for Jyu. At that moment, Sizhi’s cynical gaze immediately turned toward him. “What did you do?” Sizhi said softly, but with a hint of threat.

“I’ll wait for you outside!” said Master Jenna as she walked out of the hut.

“Alright, I’ll follow you,” Jyu replied quietly.

“Don’t run away!” Sizhi shouted, but Jyu ignored him and ran after his teacher immediately.

Now the three of them were already on the beach, although Sizhi was still sulking and kept looking at Jyu with a cynical gaze.

The three of them began doing light exercise, running around the beach ten times. Master Jenna was in front, while Jyu and Sizhi ran side by side. This became a very uncomfortable moment for Jyu because Sizhi kept mocking him about the earlier problem.

“I’m sure you were just showing off in front of Master Jenna.”

“Why do I have to be friends with a careless man like you?”

“If only the man beside me were sane.”

“How many more times do I have to face death?”

These words kept echoing in Jyu’s ears, engraved in his mind, and lingering for a long time. Jyu could only remain silent while lowering his head in regret. Let alone listening to Sizhi’s compints, just imagining fighting thousands of mystical creatures already made him nauseous.

But suddenly, a man appeared from the entrance to the beach area. He drove a car, then ran toward Master Jenna. From his expression, it was clear that he was quite panicked.

“What is it?” asked Master Jenna.

“You’re being summoned by everyone and asked to return to headquarters immediately. It’s an emergency—two soldiers have been killed,” replied the man, who from his clothes appeared to be one of the DV Army members.

Jyu and Sizhi could only look at each other, quite shocked by the news that two soldiers had been killed.

“Alright, I will return. Come on, let’s go back to headquarters,” said Master Jenna as she invited Jyu and Sizhi to leave.

  “We’re saved!” Jyu whispered.

  “I’m truly relieved!” said Sizhi.

“Fufufufu! You two are lucky this time,” Master Jenna replied.

At that moment, the three of them immediately got into the car to return to the DV Army Headquarters. As before, Sizhi drove the car, Jyu sat beside him, while Master Jenna y down in the back seat.

“Who was that man earlier?” Jyu asked curiously.

“A guard here. When you entered this area yesterday, he must have been watching. But because he knows this is my car, you were allowed to enter,” Master Jenna replied.

  ---

After a long journey, the three of them finally arrived at the DV Army headquarters. Wirtz immediately welcomed them in front of the elevator.

“Who was killed?” Master Jenna asked in a ft tone, looking very serious about this case.

“Two new soldiers, Lucas and Stel!” Wirtz replied.

  “Is there another problem?”

“Yes! But let Master Felix expin it. He understands the situation better.”

Jyu, who heard their conversation, immediately froze. He knew the soldier who had been killed—Lucas. He was Jyu’s first opponent when he arrived at the DV Army.

“Can someone who graduated from DV Army still be killed by mystical creatures?” he thought to himself, worried about his own safety.

Now Jyu, Sizhi, Master Jenna, and Wirtz were inside the elevator.

“You two should rest or recover your bodies at the health center,” Master Jenna ordered before she got off on the first floor.

Sizhi chose to return to his room and continue resting. Meanwhile, Jyu decided to go to the cafeteria to eat. His mood was not good, so he wanted to eat a lot and then sleep all day.

The cafeteria was very quiet, with no one except an older woman sitting casually in the food area. Jyu immediately approached her to ask for food.

“Who are you? I thought the guard here was a man?” Jyu asked.

“Oh, he’s just my temporary repcement. I took leave a few days ago,” said the grandmother named Borga.

“How was your training with Master Jenna?” she asked.

Jyu was surprised. He didn’t expect the cafeteria guard to know about his departure with Master Jenna. “The training she gave was extremely tough. I almost died!”

“Yes, that’s just how she is,” Borga replied calmly while preparing Jyu’s food.

“But I survived. Luckily, there was a problem that forced Master Jenna to return here,” Jyu said.

Unexpectedly, those words seemed to ignite Borga’s anger. She stared sharply as if giving a warning.

“Watch your mouth! You survived, but your friends and the people in this headquarters did not.”

Of course, Jyu was confused by Borga's anger. But he began to understand—saying the word survived in the middle of soldiers’ deaths was very inappropriate.

“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to belittle my comrades who have died,” Jyu said softly.

Borga snorted in annoyance. “From now on, train more seriously. Our lives are truly under threat!”

“What do you mean?” Jyu asked curiously.

“Mystical creatures have attacked our headquarters!”
