Chapter 27 : Graduation Day

The DV Army headquarters was truly busy. Everyone was preparing the base’s defenses so it wouldn’t be easy for mystical creatures to attack. In the middle of this busyness, only Jyu and Sizhi were training.

Both of them were very enthusiastic about destroying the rge rock in front of them. Again and again they tried, but still failed. Their efforts always failed, the pebbles they threw only turned into cotton.

Jyu truly was a young man who cked patience. The continuous failures that struck him seemed to make him frustrated, he couldn’t even concentrate. It was different with Sizhi, she was already able to channel the power of her soul core into the pebble in her grasp, even though it wasn’t perfect yet. This was proven when the pebble she threw caused a small amount of damage to the rge rock in front of her.

“Hah! How did you do that?” Jyu said in shock when he saw the result of Sizhi’s throw.

Sizhi immediately gnced at Jyu and said, “Figure it out yourself!”

“Come on! We’re friends, right?” Jyu tried to persuade Sizhi.

“Yes, we’re friends, but this is a competition!” Sizhi answered curtly.

There was no hope anymore! Jyu really had to try on his own, because this was a competition. Whoever lost had to fight Borga. She was an old grandmother, but she still seemed strong enough to beat beginners like Jyu and Sizhi.

Jyu now concentrated, his eyes closed as he tried to channel his power into the pebble in his hand. Actually, Jyu could see the power inside his body. It looked like a bzing fire, but the fme was small and still couldn’t burn his body. The surge of its bze also seemed reluctant to flow or spread through every vein in Jyu’s body.

He kept trying, picking up a pebble and throwing it at the big rock. Failed! Then he tried again, but failed again. Tried again and failed again.

After training for quite a while, Borga finally came back. She immediately checked the training results of her two new students. Of course, Sizhi became the winner. Jyu’s rock was still standing firmly, not even scratched in the slightest.

“You lost!” said Borga, and at that very moment, her demon appeared. The figure of a female demon emerged, wearing a kimono and strangely carrying a flute.

“Alright, Jyu, fight her. Sizhi, come sit with me over there,” said Borga, who invited Sizhi to sit casually on a chair that served as a resting pce in the training area.

Jyu immediately summoned Kuma and his bck sword. “There’s no other choice but to fight this demon, right? Fine then!”

“Kuma, support my attack!” Jyu ordered.

  “Grrr.”

Jyu immediately ran and charged toward the demon. He was now faster than before. With this speed his ssh was already aimed at the neck of the 1.5 meter tall female demon.

But the demon didn’t dodge, she only parried Jyu’s attack with her flute. In truth, this was only a bait attack, because the real attack would come from Kuma. Surprisingly, the bear puppet appeared from above and immediately attacked.

Its sharp cws were now ready to tear the demon’s face apart. The attack managed to hit her, but at that very moment, the demon’s body vanished.

“What? Is this an illusion?” Jyu was shocked.

Suddenly, the sound of a flute was heard.

“I’m sure that sound will create illusions. So you want an illusion battle with me, fine!” Jyu muttered.

“Kuma! If she appears, trap her with your illusion.”

Not long after, Borga’s demon appeared, but this time the number multiplied. It was like a shadow technique, ten flute-pying demons were surrounding Jyu.

  “Kuma!” Jyu shouted.

Now, Kuma had released his adorable illusion. From the ten demon shadows, one of them seemed to behave strangely. She looked like she was seeing something funny and adorable.

“Got you!” Jyu said with satisfaction when the illusion battle was successfully won.

Of course, Jyu didn’t just stand still; he quickly ran and attacked the demon. “Die!” he shouted while swinging his sword toward the demon’s neck.

Not that easy! The other demon shadows immediately attacked Jyu. Jyu was careless, he was too focused on the real demon without paying attention to the shadows. A second ter, he received repeated blows from those shadows.

“Don’t underestimate my demon, her shadows have their own will,” Borga expined from afar.

“Damn! She’s tough too,” Jyu cursed.

It didn’t stop there, the next attack had been prepared by the demon shadows. This time, sharp thorns were fired from their flutes. There were hundreds of sharp thorns heading toward Jyu, if he didn’t dodge he would surely die.

“I don’t want to die like an idiot!”

Jyu seemed to discover his ability when he was cornered. He swung his sword, trying to deflect the thousands of sharp thorns. Amazingly, the swing of his sword created a bck energy wave that was able to sweep away the thorns.

  He survived!

“What was that just now?” Jyu was shocked by the power he had just released.

At that moment, Borga walked toward him with a wide smile on her lips. “It seems this kid really needs training that directly threatens his life.”

“Training is over! You two are indeed talented students.”

  ---

Jyu kept training at the academy, whether together with Sizhi, Wirtz, Master Jenna, or Grandma Borga. He developed rapidly as a soldier, his abilities increased drastically, including Kuma.

The days passed smoothly without obstacles. Even so, it couldn’t be denied that attacks from mystical creatures were becoming more frequent. Since they discovered the location of the DV Army Headquarters, attacks have come almost every day.

However, before they entered the headquarters area, DV Army soldiers led by Wirtz immediately attacked. In an instant, they were successfully killed.

Jyu’s days at the academy passed quickly. Finally, Jyu, together with Sizhi, graduated and officially became DV Army soldiers, ready to be assigned to maintain security.

“You two finally graduated too, fufufufu!” said Master Jenna when Jyu and Sizhi met her.

“Alright! Go now, I’m already tired of seeing you.”

Jyu immediately showed an annoyed face. “Doesn’t Master want to send us off?”

“There are no events like that here, fufufufu,” said Master Jenna, who immediately left just like that.

Now Jyu and Sizhi had been assigned to maintain security in District 7. Both of them immediately headed there by riding an old medium-sized car borrowed from Wirtz.

“So that you know, District 7 is led by Master Jenna’s student, too. I think we’ll get along with her right away,” said Jyu during the trip. Sizhi didn’t respond, she only focused on driving the car.

Before leaving, Wirtz had already given the address where they would live during their duty. Both of them were asked to go to a house in the city center. That was where they would live under the care of the leader of District 7.

Finally, Jyu and Sizhi arrived at that house. The house was small but very neat. “So we’ll live here,” said Sizhi. She had already parked the car in front of the house.

Without waiting any longer, the two of them immediately entered the yard of the house. However from afar a woman could be seen standing in the doorway with a sharp and frightening gaze.

“She… She’s Taffie!” Jyu said in shock when he saw the woman.
