AN: I fully admit that I am not that proud of this chapter, my initial idea was to make some kind of big investigation, but I couldn't get it right.
I also feel as if the fight wasn't as good as It could've been.
But putting two things I was just half-satisfied with together, I managed to create this chapter... which I thought ended up kinda good?
Now enough of my whining, here is the question of the week:
What is the most Overpowered(or coolest, you can choose), Tempte Combinations you can come up with?
(The max is 4 and your combos must follow a certain theme, for example, the Angry combo: Angron + Kratos + Tryndamere + Gromash. These are mostly loose rules, so just go with what you want.).
Now, with the chapter:
~ Sirzechs Lucifer ~ Turning off his phone, the Crimson Satan let out a sigh of relief.
"So, I take it he took the contract then?", a smooth and serious voice resounded.
Sirzechs nodded his head; "He did.", then his face turned into a frown; "And now I am worried about him… The way those senators, in particur, have been pushing this contract worries me.".
Turning Towards her King and Husband, Grayfia put a steaming cup of coffee on his table; "We both know his zine-inaction was going to come back to him.".
"I know.", Sirzechs drank from the cup, appreciating the heavenly fragrance and the bitter taste; "But the way they kept pushing it...", Sirzechs lost a little bit of the tight grip he had on his aura; "Repeatedly saying that he is unworthy of the High-Css Devil rank. Repeatedly insulting the Gremory cn.", the massive aura of the strongest devil started pressing against the surroundings, tables cracking, paint peeling; "And above all, repeatedly insulting MY family.".
"Zechs, control yourself before you destroy your office. Again.", hearing his wife's warning, Sirzechs immediately suppressed his Destruction from leaking further; "Sorry, you know how…".
"I know how such things have been affecting you, I am furious myself.", added Grayfia in her usual serious and pin tone; "But as the Lucifer, you cannot afford to fall for their provocations. This is likely another ploy of them to reduce the New Satan's powers.".
"Probably.", Sirzechs agreed with his wife; "But I've been hearing some rumors that the Old King Faction has been moving quite a lot recently. And that never bodes well for anyone else.".
Grayfia's expression twitched, a tinge of anger marring her expression; "Why do you let those prancing fools walk all over you? You have more than enough power to shut them up and stop their petty schemes.".
"We already talked about this many times Grayfia.", Sirzechs spoke while finishing his coffee; "If I do that, I will become the very thing I swore to destroy.".
The maid pursed her lips and nodded her head, as a mother, she worried those bastards would try something on her son. But she doesn't think they are that tired of living, yet.
Feeling her thoughts were justified, she voiced out; "I am worried if you let them walk over you too much, they will start to get… suicidal.", she added pointily.
"Oh, they absolutely will. They are arrogant like that, it is literally in their blood.", Sirzechs then got up and stretched his back a bit; "But like the King Piece fiasco, we will bleed them dry as soon as they slip.".
"Good.", Grayfia nodded while she helped Sirzechs put on his ceremonial armor; "They deserve worse for the stunts they pull daily.".
"I know. And I think so too.", shaking his arms for a bit, the Crimson Satan let a sigh of relief at the familiar weight of his armor; "You won't believe the crazy stuff Sera tell us. It makes one wonder if Devils are really intelligent creatures.".
Seeing Sirzechs ready to go, Grayfia couldn't hold back her curiosity anymore; "Was that really Razen on the phone?".
Sirzechs nodded a proud smile on his face; "Yup.".
Grayfia was quite a bit surprised, she knows Young Master Razen quite well, she trained all his maids after all. She doesn't think she ever saw him that much motivated in life, with that much life behind his words. It was a pleasant surprise and a good change, she knew things were going quite bad when even Millicas was starting to notice his depressed state.
"Getting a new peerage member really changed him.", Sirzechs added happily.
Grayfia deadpanned; "It is a girl, isn't it?"
"Yup.", Sirzechs nodded.
The maid sighed, and mumbled under her breath; "Gremory men…".
Sirzechs chuckled and then stopped, his expression turning sour instantly; "Shit, the Vixen is here. And she brought Ichiban.".
Grayfia's expression stilled; "Well, at least it's not Majima.".
Sighing, Sirzechs couldn't help but chuckle mirthfully; "I wonder how much Ajuka will ugh at our faces when we tell him Ikusautsuwa and Ichiban came knocking on our door just because some idiotic Devil refused to sell Golden Cow Milk to a catgirl.".
"When you put it like that, it does indeed sound funny.", Grayfia smiled and dusted her husband's clothes; "Good luck.".
Feeling his wife was simply way too cute, Sirzechs picked her up, spun her, and kissed her in the mouth deeply; "For luck.", he smirked confidently.
Grayfia huffed, adjusted her clothes, and patted him on the back. Prompting the Crimson Satan to nod his head and school his expression back to seriousness. With a flick of his mana, a magic circle appeared on the floor, and in a bright fsh of red light, the two were gone.
~ Razen Antares Gremory ~
After a few hours of practicing martial arts, Razen finally stopped. Like every other skill, the more proficient you are at it, the more difficult is to increase your proficiency with it. So when his rate of improvement started slowing down, he decided to brush up his magic for a bit.
Focusing first on his three basic spells, Razen Casted Forceball, Force Push, and Force Spear on the wall, getting an initial feeling for them.
Thankfully now that his original cn trait has been fully devoured by his element, he didn't find many difficulties while casting these simple spells. It felt almost like second nature to him. Soul Talent and his Aethermorph Heritage probably helped a lot along the way, but the boy was happy with his first-time results.
He focused mainly on these three spells, trying to improve and refine them as much as possible. He knows he will not have enough time to turn them into second nature, but as long as he can reasonably cast them, he will be satisfied.
A few hours passed with the Gremory Heir training his spells and his new trait, so good was his progress, that he even managed to create the Force Wall Spell. He was actually quite impressed with how quickly he was improving in the magic sense, but when he stopped to think more deeply about it, it indeed made sense, He is an Aethermorph, a Heritage that emphasizes reaching perfection via magical means, he is literally made for magic.
Razen had initially pnned to practice with his Greatsword after training magic. But it felt so good to use and practice magic, that he ended up going at it till he had no time to spare anymore.
"You really got into magic, huh.", pointed out Eu while approaching him; "I think this was the first time I've seen you so focused. You even ignored the few times I called you.".
"Sorry about that.", Razen said sheepishly; "I didn't know I would enjoy magic that much. It was like finding the best book, best videogame, and most entertaining series all fused into one thing. I simply couldn't stop, and I would've probably gone well into the night if I hadn't settled up an arm.".
Eu smirked; "Don't worry about it, Vengeance will be mine.", Razen shuddered.
Trying to suppress his boner, the Gremory Heir's shoulders rexed; "Guess we can rest now. By the time we wake up, we will have a Stray Devil to hunt.".
Eu nodded, letting out a sigh of relief. She did take one or two 30-minute naps during this 3 day period, but she was still completely exhausted and wanted nothing more than to take a rexing bath, eat some junk food, and go to sleep. Razen completely agreed with her.
While the two went to take a shower, Razen used his Hud to order some food, It was just some greasy Burger King fast food, but both of them deserved the reward after such harsh training.
Just after finishing the shower and putting on some pajamas, the food arrived. The duo ate slowly but with unmatched gusto. Even after eating so much mana-rich food, normal food still held a certain appeal to them.
They didn't talk much and simply enjoyed each other's presence in silence. When it came time to sleep, they didn't even talk, opting to simply colpse on the Master Bedroom's bed together while hugging each other to sleep.
*Ding!*
Hearing the annoying ding from his Hud echoing in his mind, Razen woke up. Unwilling to separate from Eu for now, he browsed his newest message.
It was a Stray Devil Extermination Contract. The same contract his brother asked, no, almost ordered him to pick.
It was issued in the name of the Central Devil Government, more specifically the Senate. Without hesitation, Razen accepted it.
Detaching himself from Eu, he went towards his office where a teleportation circle y on the corner. With a pulse of his mana on the circle, it lit up in a bright red color before a small canister appeared.
Opening the canister, Razen picked a parchment, on it was the description of his contract and the appropriate teleportation circle to its immediate area. Pulsing his mana through the parchment, the Gremory sigil appeared at the bottom of it, showing he had officially signed and accepted the contract to hunt the Stray Devil, his reward; Money, around 10,000 dolrs, and a few resources of his choosing. All in all, it should be a simple, easy, and very straightforward contract. But remembering the seriousness of his brother when he addressed it, he decided to not lower his guard just yet.
Descending towards the kitchen, he ordered breakfast and started to make the table, a few minutes ter Eu appeared, still dressed in her pajamas and with a small dose of bed hair that made her look exceptionally cute in Razen's opinion. After a shared greeting, both sat at the table.
"Our contract.", Razen slid the parchment towards Eu, who picked it up and read it.
"It sounds like your standard Quest.", supplied Eu; "Go to X pce, kill X Monster.".
"I thought so as well.", Razen agreed easily; "But you remember the serious tone my brother used when mentioning it, right?".
"I do.", answered Eu with a serious face; "Which means we should expect something amiss.".
"Indeed, and this eerily smells like politics.", Razen suppressed a shudder; "And I hate politics for a reason.".
"Let me guess…", Eu tapped her chin; "Family foe? Or an old enemy? Perhaps even a rival faction?".
"Well, for one, I don't think it's a Rival Faction.", started Razen with narrowed eyes; "Azazel is mostly focused on Sacred Gears, so we can probably discard The Grigory. The Angels have been passive since the New Satans came to power, so no to them as well. And while there are also the Yokai and the Yakuza, I know very little about them, but I don't think they would use a Devil Contract to eliminate me. And considering the contract came from the Central Government…", Eu could already deduce the rest.
"Funnily enough, whatever scheme this is, it's not even aimed at me.", Razen suppressed a depreciatory chuckle; "They are probably using me to get to my brother. As this is the only way they have to wound him in some form.".
Eu pursed her lips; "You are making a lot of assumptions there.", she sighed; "But I relent this is the most probable theory.".
Before they could continue their talk, breakfast arrived. After eating to their fill, the duo went to their respective rooms to put on their combat attire.
For ck of a better choice, Razen put on Kevin's clothes, as they are literally the most durable suit he has on hand. He could commission something on the Devilnet, but anything better than Kevin's battlesuit would cost him millions and take at least a few months to get ready, so not an option for now.
Kevin's Fme Chaser battlesuit will have to do. Thankfully, its size was adjustable, so even if he is taller than the Fme Chaser, it fitted on him like a glove. The boob window is still weird as hell thought, but he has to admit the trench coat felt kinda cool.
Walking towards the entrance of his mansion, Razen steps on the ground in a rhythmically *thump* noise, almost creating a march of dread.
At the entrance, Eu was already waiting for him, when her gaze nded on him, he felt her pause and blink owlish for a moment. Shaking her head, she refocused on the task at hand. The pair nodded towards each other, prompting the Gremory Heir to pick the Contract Parchment, and with a flex of his will, sent a pulse of mana towards the teleportation circle with specific coordinates imprinted into it.
In a fsh of bright red light, they were gone.
The scenario around him was that of a small countryside vilge, old homes, wide dirt roads, and a small and low traffic of people. Without further ado, Razen immediately went around talking to people, trying to get a y of the nd so to say.
Thankfully, while people found the presence of two foreigners weird, they were welcoming enough to answer his questions. It took maybe 20 minutes to learn where they were and to discover a good pce to get info.
"Brazil, really?", Razen grumbled with a deadpan. Going back to his birth country just three days after his 'death' left him feeling a little bit weird, but it was a familiar pce at least.
"Oh? Do you have anything against this country?", asked Eu curiously.
"Ehhh…",Razen made a so-so gesture with his hand; "I spent my first life here, so I know both how good and how bad this pce can be.".
"First life…", Eu stopped, a little put out Razen admitted he had a past life so easily.
"Yup, I am currently on my second one.", the boy supplied; "You already know about the company and my patron, so you can probably guess what happened.".
Eu nodded, while it was quite shocking to have such revetion drop so suddenly on her p, in the end, it changed nothing about her current life. It didn't even diminish her feelings for Razen, the opposite actually, seeing how much he trusted her with such personal info, only fanned her fmes of passion.
With new revetions past them, the duo went into a local bar. Apparently, an old man there is well-known for quality gossip, someone called Plinio Sampaio Correia, and everyone said he should have the info that Eu and Razen seek.
Funnily enough, even if it was 9 in the morning, the bar already had the typical gaggle of old men drinking, pying cards, and two of them pying billiards in the back. It was a very typical bar you can find in Brazil's countryside and even if he wasn't ever a regur at a bar, his grandpa was, much like these old men before him. It looked somewhat nostalgic to Razen.
Going towards the counter where the owner was drinking a cup of cool beer, Razen went right to business; "Good Morning, can I have a bottle of 'Velho Barreiro' and '51'?".
"Sure thing.", replied the middle-aged man a little surprised at Razen's perfect Portuguese. Putting the two bottles on the counter, the man dusted his hands; "And here it is.".
"How much?".
"60 Reais.", the owner replied.
Picking three 20 Reais bills from his wallet, praise be the company sary, Razen paid the owner and took the two bottles.
"Why not use your card to pay? Isn't that more convenient?", asked Eu a little curiously.
Razen smiled at her optimism; "Eu, they barely have an internet connection here, much less a credit card machine. He would probably accept Pix thought.".
"Pix?".
"It's a payment method that is very common here in Brazil.", expined Razen while walking towards the group of old men; "Extremely convenient as well.", he added.
Putting the two bottles on their table, 5 pairs of aged eyes instantly zeroed in on him; "Good morning gentleman, would you care to answer a few of my questions? Do that and these bottles are yours.".
Considering how bored they are, these old men would probably answer his question just to distract themselves for a bit, giving them a bottle was more of a gift in trade for their sincerity.
"We are searching for one Plinio Sampaio Correia, do you happen to know him?", pressed Razen before the old men could answer. It seemed reincarnation made him quite an impatient person when it came to politeness rituals.
The old man on the utmost right, an aged figure with sun-kissed skin, leather-like face, and beady bck eyes was the first to speak; "What do you want with him?"
"Just a few questions really.", Razen said a little more amicably; "Apparently some strange events were happening in this city a week ago, and we were sent to investigate them.".
The sun-kissed man frowned; "Are you cops?".
"Somewhat? I can't exactly say it, confidentiality and all, but we were the closest specialists on hand, so they sent us.".
The man nodded; "Guess there is no harm in telling you, not like it's some kind of secret or anything.".
"Oh?", excimed Razen pretending to be surprised; "You are Plinio then?".
"Yeah, that's me.", the man nodded.
"Out with the story them.", Razen said with a smile, earning a chuckle from Plinio; "Sure.", the other four old men were watching the spectacle in silence, simply too entertained by the events happening before them.
"Well, it all started a month ago when some weird fel from Paraisópolis arrived at the city. He had rented a house close to the local Bee Farm and kept much to himself, and even his neighbor barely, if ever, saw him.", the man took a sip of his cool beer.
"Things stayed normal for a few days before weird stuff started happening.", the man paused, drinking his beer once again.
Not able to contain herself, Eu asked; "What sort of 'stuff'?".
"Well, it first started with some weird circles appearing around the city. They weren't very big and were too well drawn to be some prank the kids were pulling.", before the man could continue, Razen made a hasty drawing of a few Magic Circles without their sigils on a napkin and showed it to the man; "Circles like these?".
The old man widened his eyes, feeling almost fearful of Razen for a moment; "Y-Yeah, just like those, but they had some weird goat-like symbol in the middle.", Razen shared a gce with Eu, they probably had found their culprit.
"Later even more bizarre stuff started happening. Sections of the forest turning into deserts, people disappearing, and even the old church up on the mountain was destroyed.".
"Folks started suspecting the dude from Paraisópolis the responsible and that he was possessed.", the old man trembled, feeling a shiver go down his spine; "We immediately went to talk with Frey Eduardo, who, without hesitating, went towards the man's home.".
"Sadly, or luckily, probably luckily. The good Frey didn't find anything on the man's home, only…", Plinio shuddered again; "Only the remains of some of his victims.", the other four old men did the cross sign in haste, making Razen and Eu wince internally.
"For you to see just how serious the Good Frey took things.", Plinio took a nervous breath; "He instantly called Bishop Francisco. The Bishop arrived the next day and straightened things up, and since he blessed the city, no more weird stuff happened. The possessed man is still missing though, hope you catch that motherfucker before he kills anyone else.".
Razen raised his eyebrow; "Would that be all?", Plinio and his friends nodded, prompting Razen to get up.
"Good. Thank you for your time gentleman, but I am afraid I must excuse myself. Bye-bye.", dusting his clothes, he started walking towards the exit, Eu following quickly behind.
Later when asked about Razen by some mysterious muscled priest, Plinio would say he had quite the dependable back, and he couldn't help but feel a small sense of relief knowing such a guy was hunting the possessed man. He would ter rey how stingy the priests were, as different from the polite man, they didn't even pay him a beer.
Seeing the two young fels exit the bar; Ocimar, Plinio's best friend, elbowed his longtime billiard rival; "Those two are fucking, aren't they?"
Calmly finishing his beer, Plinio shook his head; "Nah, but almost there. I could cut their sexual tension with a knife.".
"For sure.", replied Ocimar while opening the 'Velho Barreiro' bottle.
.
.
.
Walking with swift steps, Razen and Eu distanced themselves from the bar. Seeing her King in such a hurry left Eu feeling a bit nervous; "Is everything okay Antares?".
Stopping for a moment Razen closed his eyes; "Sorry, I think I made a big mistake.".
"What mistake?", Eu tilted her head.
"Brazil is a very religious country, Christianity is extremely widespread here, to the point it is extremely difficult to find a city, no matter how small, that doesn't have a church.", he then took a deep breath to calm himself down; "I failed to consider what kind of ramifications that would have for us.".
Eu winced and agreed, yeah, that sounded pretty bad, principally considering they are devils now.
"I wouldn't be surprised if there was an Archangel stationed here. Probably not in this small city proper, but at least in Sao Paulo or Rio.", walking even more quickly towards the house close to the bee farm, Razen tried to suppress his anger at his failure.
"I was way too sure of myself, believing too much in my 'outsider' knowledge and perspective, failing to consider real life is mighty different.", taking another deep breath he calmed himself down; "Thankfully, we are at least a few kilometers from the capital. So we should be able to go for a few hours without being disturbed, but I don't doubt if we make too much of a ruckus, the church will come down breathing on our necks in no time.".
Arriving at the front of the Bee Farm, Razen stopped and took out the contract. And like all Stray Devil Extermination Contracts, it could locate its target.
Ajuka Beelzebub was not an idiot, so all Evil Pieces also can serve as a beacon to a very specific and highly restricted location spell. Normally this beacon function of the Evil Pieces is turned off, but the moment a Reincarnated Devil becomes a stray, it automatically activates.
Sadly, said function is far from perfect, as there is plenty of stuff out there that intervenes with it. Thankfully, the Stray they are hunting is neither particurly skilled nor strong enough to void said beacon function.
With measured, but swift steps, they followed the direction the contract was pointing towards, which soon led them to a very thick rainforest. It was at this moment that Antares thanked Kevin in his heart, the fact that his battlesuit came with thick and heavy boots was a massive help when running around in a thick rainforest.
He then looked at Eu, and couldn't help but ask; "How are you running with high heels in a rainforest?".
Eu smiled smugly; "Secret~".
Razen let out a burst of air through his nose, trying to hide his growing attraction to the woman with a small ugh.
Seeing as they were far enough from the city, Antares turned towards Eu; "We can probably use our wings now.", Eu nodded and released her Devil Wings while Antares did the same.
But instead of using them to outright fly, they used the wings' flying ability to float between trees, using their branches as a highway. Razen would shamelessly admit he stole the idea from Naruto.
A few minutes ter, they were face-to-face with a cave, a strong aura of malice emanating from it.
"Okay, the stray is probably inside there.", Razen stated the obvious; "And as much as I desire a good fight, I know the mission takes precedence.", his eyes turned sharp, a serious aura covering his body; "So we are going to ambush it.".
"I will do my best to bait it out.", suggested the Devil Heir in a low voice. "While you start preparing your biggest and most damaging attack. And as soon as it steps outside, you drop everything at it from behind. If it still somewhat survives that, we fight together to bring it down.".
Having seen Antares training, and the sheer potency of his regeneration, Eu gritted her teeth but agreed with the pn. As loathsome as she finds putting her crush at risk like this is, he is indeed the most suited for this role.
Reaching the entrance of the cave, the two nodded at each other, Eu jumped on the cliff above, choosing an advantage point from where she would attack the Stray, while Razen mentally prepared himself for the battle ahead.
With a firm gaze and determined steps, Razen entered the cave. The echo of his boots on the dirty ground resounded throughout the cave with each step, he saw no point in trying to sneak around, as his skill with the art is abysmal.
Unsurprisingly, the cave was dark, almost pitch bck. But as devils are creatures of the night, he could see in darkness as well as he could in the middle of the day, so he barely noticed it was dark in the first pce.
The ground was uneven and full of strange marks as if someone had dragged massive bdes through this way. The walls were scratched, dirty, and full of a weird brownish moss.
A few jagged stagmites rose from the ground, following their counterpart stactites on the ceiling. Such a combination made the cave look like a big maw willing to devour all who dared to enter.
The cave started to widen more and more, to the point it became as wide as a basketball court, and it was there that he met… nothing.
Taking the Contract from his pocket space, Razen frowned when he saw the detection spell engraved into it. It was pointing to the exact pce he was located-
The Aethermorph opened his eyes wide and without a second of hesitation, he rolled forward. His heart already beating faster than a full-powered jackhammer.
*Crash*
A Massive lion-like paw crashed where he stood moments before, making the whole cave shake with its sheer might.
Quickly storing back the contract on his Pocket Space, Razen sized up his foe. And instantly regretted it.
What stood before him was an Eldritch abomination, something worth of featuring on Bloodborne as a secret boss. A triangle-shaped mouth filled with rows and rows of sharp teeth, nine beady sickly-yellow eyes, seven pairs of ears, a deformed and twisted body that bulged and twisted in chaotic and unexpected ways, fizzled and patched fur that behaved like living snakes, a long monkey-like tail with a cwed human-like hand at the end of it, cws that were bigger than greatswords, and lines of teeth that looked like rows of nces.
Razen jumped to the side, avoiding some strange liquid the beast spat at him. With a familiarity that shouldn't belong to someone who only practiced his spells for a few hours, Antares cast Forceball.
Already mid-lunge, the creature was stuck on its forehead, making it stumble and fall with a loud crash. Its roar of pain echoed throughout the cave like a requiem's wail.
Unwilling to let the beast recuperate, Razen cast Forceball again, but this time the stray weird body twisted to the side, the Forceball hitting it in the arm, making the monster roar in pain and defiance.
Razen frowned, his spells were barely damaging the thing, they had quite the kick behind them but the monster's hide was thick enough that the best he could do were scratches.
A perfect way to enrage the stray and bait it outside.
Like a very annoying ranged character, Razen continued pelting the stray with Forceball after Forceball, the beast kept pouncing and dashing, trying its best to crush this annoying fly before it. But every time it got close, a Forceball would hit it in the face, interrupting its actions for a moment, and thus allowing Razen to dodge its attack.
Slowly, Razen kited the stray towards the cavern's exit, sadly for the sane Devil, the st steps were the worst, as the cavern was pretty narrow at its entrance, so he could only dodge backward. And annoyingly, the beast, low intelligence or not, quickly caught on and exploited this fact.
Even if this is Razen's first instance of real combat, the Force user was doing surprisingly well. Kevin's memories, coupled with his Martial talent, allowed him to read his enemy proficiently, its movements becoming more and more predictable as the fight went on.
Feeling the sun caressing his back, Razen smiled slightly, the beast was done for.
"Now!", he shouted at Eu, who answered by impaling a 10-meter-tall Ice sword through the monster's back.
*ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAARRRRR!*
The monster let out an agonizing roar, the forest trembling under the might of its voice. Razen winced and almost fell down, thanks to his enhanced senses, this roar was extremely painful to him, to the point it shattered his equilibrium for a moment.
And that was a fatal mistake.
Becoming a blur of speed, the beast swatted Antares as if he were a fly. Making the Devil fly through half a dozen trees before he hit the ground.
"ANTARES!", Eu shouted in worry. Unfurling her wings, she jumped high and before she could rush towards her King, she saw him raise his trembling right hand. Feeling relief, her gaze instantly turned towards the stray; "You will pay for that you foul beast.", she gritted her teeth; "Vengeance will be mine.".
Drawing her Song of Broken Pines, Eu sheathed her wings and let gravity pull her down. Using all her might, she sshed her sword downwards, a cover of frost enhancing the bde even further.
The beast, bleeding and stumbling due to the gigantic sword impaling It, failed to raise any kind of meaningful defense against Eu. Her sword hit it in the forehead and split its body in half.
Without throwing even a second gnce at the corpse of the stray, Eu rushed toward Razen to check on him.
By now, Antares had already willed his body to heal itself and was now getting up from the ground. Looking at Eu rushing towards him, he widened his eyes, his heart almost leaping from his mouth.
Putting as much mana as he could into it, he cast Wall of Force right behind Eu.
Half a dozen light spears hit the Wall of Force, exploding in a shower of light and dirt.
As an experienced combatant, Eu immediately turned around and took cover behind the wall, Razen got up and quickly followed her.
Looking at the direction the spears were unched from, the two widened their eyes for a bit, for the beast had healed itself and transformed.
Gone was its eldritch animal-like body, now a very humanoid one took its pce. The beast, however, was far from being human-like; Its height was around 3 meters tall, its arms long enough to reach the knees, its hands more akin to cws, and its legs and feet were like that of a monkey, its tail didn't change much, only getting more streamlined and though.
It had no fur anymore, but its skin was of a leather-like consistency that looked quite troublesome to damage, its eyes had become only four and its elven-like ears reduced to just three pairs, atop of its head a pair of straight bckened horns rose, viciously pointing at the sky.
But the most troublesome of all was its wings; fpping erratically behind its back were two pairs of crow-like wings, much like those belonging to a fallen angel.
Seeing that, Razen winced, things just rose another level in difficulty.
While not as fatal to Devils as Holy Light, Light was still extremely dangerous, it was akin to a half-potent kryptonite for his race, that even at half potency, was still a kryptonite.
Turning towards Eu, Razen's gaze was razor sharp; "Same pn, I draw its attention. You do the fatal strikes.".
"Understood.", the Spindrift Knight agreed and crouched, giving Razen quite the view of her rear.
Spoiler
[colpse]Shaking his head of distracting thoughts, Razen jumped over the wall of force, opening his wings to give him a longer reach.
The stray instantly answered with a Light Spear to the devil's face, which he intercepted with Forceball and counterattacked with a Force Spear towards the stray's heart.
The beast tried to avoid it, but it was still quite awkward at controlling its new body. It managed to deviate for a bit, making Razen's Force Spear pierce its right lung, creating a shower of blood behind it.
It let out a low keening and acute sound that hurt Razen's ears, before rushing towards him like an animal, the Force Spear still impaled on its body.
At this moment Eu chose to act, enhancing her sword with Ice magic, she swung it right on the beast's trajectory. Unable to avoid the sudden attack, the beast was horizontally cleaved in half, its blood staining the ground under it, but this didn't even stop its rush, as it continued beating its wings furiously while rushing towards Razen.
The Devil frowned at the single-minded focus the beast had on him, but quickly refocused on the battle, shooting two Force Spears towards the monster's wings, while he jumped back to avoid a trio of light spears.
By now, the bottom half of the monstrosity has already regenerated, its mad rush getting increasingly crazed.
Antares didn't stop his barrage of attacks, he repeatedly shot Force Spears at it. And thus a scene simir to the previous one in the cave repeated itself, just way more deadly. At every opening or opportunity, Eu would jump into the fray and swing her frost-covered sword, usually dealing massive damage to her foe.
Razen felt like he was dancing in the jaws of death at first, but as the battle went on, his Martial Talent worked on overdrive, allowing him to slowly be able to read the creature's movements again.
He jumped and weaved through its wild strikes, countered them with his magic, and attacked with his Force Spears.
But nothing worked.
The stray seemed like an unstoppable juggernaut, no matter how grievous its wounds were, it kept on going. It kept healing.
Razen looked at Eu, she was not wounded, but exhaustion was already catching up to her, her Demonic Mana was on an all-time low, and her stamina was already waning, she had three, perhaps two attacks on her or one more giant ice sword.
The monster, on the other hand, didn't look winded at all.
Antares widened his eyes, as it finally dawned on him, his surprise was so great that he couldn't help but excim; "Did it consume an Ophis Snake?". Eu widened her eyes at hearing that, her expression becoming grim.
The battle continued, but even an idiot could feel it was helpless, fighting against something that has infinite mana is hard unless your strength vastly outstrips the other party. They had to do something, or they would die at the hands of this monster.
But before they could make any pns, the monster… changed. Its aura exploded outwards, rising to the sky like a pilr of baleful light. Two bulges appeared on its shoulder bdes, right in the middle of its two pairs of wings, the bulges moved and struggled as if some kind of creature was trying to burst out.
With an earth-shattering shout, another pair of wings burst from its back, a power equivalent of a Six-Winged Fallen Angel combined with a High-Css Stray Devil, something not merely the sum of its parts, but an unholy mix that exponentially increased its strength, it was at the peak of High Css and incredibly close to the fabled Ultimate Css.
"Eu… I will have to use pn Judgment", Razen sighed.
Eu's face instantly fell; "No, please…", the Spindrift Knight pleaded; "After years, I finally found something great, I person that I love… I… please… I don't think I can handle losing you.".
Dusting his clothes, Antares stepped forward; "It's is our only hope.", picking a vial of Phoenix Tears, he swallowed it whole.
Eu frowned; "The hell it is Antares! Take a foto of this thing, call your brother and all of this will be resolved in less than a minute.", her frown turned into a frustrated scowl; "You don't have to risk your life by using the Judgment of Shamash.".
"That is the thing Eu…", Antares aura surged, reaching an all-time high, his massive mana pool showing the whole world the sheer pedigree of his lineage; "There is a time in the life of a man that he feels he must do something.", he made a grasping gesture with his hands; "A time that no matter what, he must grasp his destiny with his own hands-".
"AND SOAR!!!", punching forward, the Judgment of Shamash in its Cleaver form slowly appeared on Antares' right hand, gripping the weapon handle tightly, he jumped towards the Six-Winged creature.
"*ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR*!", focusing on its most hated target, the Six-Winged beast jumped, waves of Light Spears following in its wake.
Antares ignited the Cleaver of Shamash, and his world was set abze;
It started with fmes dancing around the weapon, like a shy maiden, they coiled and flowed through its bde. The heat was unbearable.
"RHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH", his roar echoed throughout the forest, a supernova-shaped sword earning for action on his grip.
The bde started to emit light like that of a campfire, slowly and modestly at first, before glowing to becoming a blinding supernova. The heat was scorching.
Cracks made of fire started to consume his body, pure agony was his world.
Fire entered its wielder's veins, bathing him in the glory of the Herrscher of Fme. The fire became magma and the magma turned into psma. The heat was searing.
His ICHOR immediately went into overdrive, excavating potential like it never did before, the ICHOR of Parvati and Garuda working on overdrive to excavate more and more potential to combat their comrade.
The Ice of its comrade Parvati and the healing of friend Garuda fought tooth and nail... but the Fme won in the end. The heat was sizzling
His body started breaking, sections of his flesh falling to the ground and evaporating.
The wielder could not bear the majesty of fire, so after one single attack… the wielder broke. The heat was bzing.
Gripping the sword with the st strands of sanity and power he had left, Antares sshed upwards towards the stray.
A single ssh.
And for a brief moment, a second sun graced the countryside of Brazil.

AN: Well, here is another chapter for you guys, I hope you all liked it.
I know I went a little too poetic at the end, but I sincerely hope it wasn't confusing to anyone, trying something new you see.
There are a few references to other works in this chapter, even to other fics, hope you guys can find them.
Now my combo choice is the TIME Temptes: Kronos PJO + Professor Paradox Ben10 + Quicksave/Ryan Romano + Nozdormu WoW. (Seo Eun-hyun instead of Ryan if it was a cultivation world. Zelretch and Julius are also valid choices as well.)
