Everyone piled into Seulgi’s car. Sung-Hoon in the front passenger seat. Jeong-Hui and Katie are in the rear. Mostly because with the suitcase, there would not be any way that anyone would fit with Sung-Hoon in the back seat.
Katie offered to get a cab, but Sung-Hoon of all people told her to get in. So, she followed orders. Some people cannot issue orders and be taken seriously. Sung-Hoon did not have that problem. Neither did Seulgi when she decided to flex. Oddly enough, the quietest of the bunch, Jeong-Hui, would be taken the most seriously among any of them. In these st few days, Katie was learning how to voice things. Not even Wendy could boss people like this. She learned how to modute for best results. She did not know the Parents, so had no expectations of them. But when Seulgi bossed them, that was an eye opening experience within itself.
Katie would try using this voice on her puppy first before trying it on anyone else.
Seulgi looked to see that everyone was in, doors closed, and seat belts on. Once the duties as the driver were done, she put Katie’s address in the SatNav. She was pretty sure where to go and how to get there, so having a bit of backup was still a good thing.
Once ready, she reversed out of the parking space, put the car into drive, and took off. Smooth as butter, that's our Seulgi.
There was some very minor, borderline frivolous conversation during that side of the trip. There was no particur reason for it, it just happened that way. Seulgi and Katie were bickered back and forth like siblings. The Parents smiled indulgently.
Just as they pulled up to Katie’s pce, Seulgi stopped the car and put it in park. She then turned around to the younger dy and said, “Do you still have my card?”
“Yes.”
“I was very serious when I told you that if anyone, and I mean anyone, tries to give you grief over this, you send them to me. Also, that maniac is still out there. Do not go anywhere alone. You have your friends, but if they are not avaible, you call me. Understood?”
“Yes, Seulgi.”
“I’m dead serious, Katie. You are too important to all of us to take stupid chances. If I cannot get you, I’ll send Nayeon or Jackson. If they are unavaible, then I’ll find someone else. But, what would happen to Jackson if Gillian finds out he said no?”
Laughter between Seulgi and Katie.
“Lastly, you are also important to the police. You are the only one who saw what happened. The only reason I am not going to walk you to your apartment is because the front door is locked and monitored. I am tempted to bring you home with me, but you are an adult. Kind of." That got a tongue stuck out at her. Smiling, Seulgi continued," I am going to watch you until you get inside, though. So, get going so these people can sleep.”
“Yes, Seulgi. Thank you. Sung-Hoon-nim, Jeong-Hui-ssi, I cannot say that it was a pleasure to meet you under these circumstances. I hope we get to speak more while you are here. Please sleep well when you get your rest.”
The Parents both smile and nod at the gracious young woman as she alighted the car. They were incredibly mistaken about the imp that just left them unmolested. Granted, Katie knew that this would be a horribly inappropriate time to py her normal pranks and jokes. It bears repeating that Katie was young, not stupid.
“Take care of yourself as well, Katie. We will be counting on you,” was softly said from Jeong-Hui.
There was a companionable silence inside the car while Katie trotted up to the door. She turned and waved to the car as the door unlocked and slipped inside. (And not slipped like Seulgi would have.)
Seulgi engaged the car again and started heading home.
Sung-Hoon started the conversation by simply saying, “Seulgi. Thank you.”
“Sir?”
“You have been good to our daughter. You have been taking care of things here when she got hurt. You are taking care of us when you have no obligation to do so. Everything has been a lot smoother because of you and yours. You are even taking care of Katie as well. Thank you.”
Seulgi was blushed so bright that had if it been te at night, she would not have needed to turn her headlights on. This brought a hearty smile from Him and a slightly malicious one from Her.
Seulgi was saved from stammering too much by virtue of approaching the brightly lit parking garage. Once parked, Sung-Hoon got out of the car, then looked around, and saw lots of security cameras, then nodded in satisfaction.
Once parked, the rear was popped open to get the other suitcases and the blue bag. Everything was collected and they started moving. This time, Seulgi did not win the possession of the blue bag. Jeong-Hui wore a slightly smug smile over that.
They trooped over to the elevator, but Seulgi stopped them. “Please, come over here to the front desk for a moment.”
She got some quizzical looks from both the Parents and the guards. The guards were used to Seulgi being eccentric, so they were not too surprised by her bringing more people in.
“Hi, guys. This is the Shons. Jeong-Hui and Sung-Hoon. They will be staying with me for the least a week, possibly longer. They need some temporary visitor badges for admittance and I need a spare key made for them. They have absolute permission to access my pce. If they lose the key, let them in. Okay?” With how rich the Parents were, there was no way they'd try to hawk any of her meager possessions. So, there was no reason not to trust them.
“Yes, ma’am. Sir? Ma’am? May we have you step over here so we can take a photo to put on your badges?” Information was filled out while pictures were taken.
“Don’t worry about bringing things up, when we head back down, we’ll pick it all up then.”
“Good enough, Seulgi. Would you like a hand with the bags?”
“Normally, no. But after today? Yes, please. That would be very helpful.” Again, having the advantage of having the Seulgi Special Squad.
Two rge, burly young men came out from behind the desk and with incredible politeness for how rge and rough they looked, took the suitcases, but not the blue bag, and quietly joined them. They went back to the elevators and waited. Unfortunately, the small elevator opened and there was no way for everyone and cases could get on all at the same time.
“We’ll wait for the next car, ma’am,” said the rger and more senior guard.
Seulgi turned with a smile to the Parents who almost looked uncomfortable. She said, “It's fine. I trust these guards implicitly.” Thus relieving the Parents and gaining another pair of zealots in the Seulgi Special Squad.
She gave the guards a bright smile, which dropped as soon as the doors closed. It wasn’t that it was not a real smile, she just didn’t have the energy or the heart to maintain it.
Suki heard her Idiot from the elevator, finally coming home. She got herself ready.
As soon as Seulgi opened the door, that was when the scolding started.
