As Jason Williams and Sonny Zendt were heading back to the park, Ellie and Kira rushed over, their faces etched with urgency.
"Jason, that ugly fatty and his crew escaped, and they even killed my five mutated wasps!" Ellie whined, stomping her foot in front of Jason.
The wasps, with their limited intelligence, had been outsmarted. David Lee and his group found the loophole and picked them off one by one, making their escape from the park.
Jason, surprised, asked with curiosity, "David and his guys are that brave? Weren't they afraid of getting stung to death by the swarm?"
Wasps' venom was no joke; a few stings might be tolerable, but too many could be fatal. Jason had once seen a video of someone dying after being stung by a swarm of wasps, despite being rushed to the hospital.
Ellie, a hint of schadenfreude in her voice, said, "The wasps I left behind stung that ugly fatty pretty good. He's probably a goner."
Jason's lips twitched, inwardly cursing David for his recklessness. He hadn't planned on killing David off so soon.
Jason wanted to torment David slowly, satisfying his desire for revenge from his past life. David dying from wasp stings felt too easy.
Still, unwilling to give up entirely, Jason instructed Ellie, "Have the bees monitor David Lee and his group's location. Once we've dealt with the advanced zombies, I'll find David and give him a good flogging, even in death."
Flogging a corpse?
Ellie looked speechless, wondering what kind of vendetta Jason had against David. He wouldn't even let the guy rest in peace.
Just then, Sonny Zendt approached Jason with a wide smile, holding two pairs of combat boots. "Jason, my friend, I'm off to deliver these boots to my two junior comrades. I'll be sure to contact you first with any good intel in the future."
Sonny was incredibly grateful to Jason. He knew these three pairs of boots weren't a free gift; he'd have to repay the favor with information later.
His two junior comrades were still hunting regular zombies nearby, trying to prevent their ranking from dropping.
Currently, most teams were trying to hold their rank, sending out two or three people to kill zombies nearby, which meant few were willing to lure zombies, allowing David Lee and his gang to escape.
Sonny wanted to deliver the combat boots to his junior comrades as soon as possible, so he bid his farewell.
Jason's generosity only cost him some Escape Coins to manufacture the combat boots. Befriending an information broker like Sonny would be a great help in the future.
What Jason didn't know was that Sonny was not just an information broker, but also a master strategist.
In his past life in this zombie world, which Jason did not exist, Ellie relied on her swarm of bees to recruit Sonny and his two companions as underlings. Sonny, naturally, calculated that the teams with the lowest ranking at night would be hunted by zombies.
So, on the first day, Ellie killed many zombies to avoid being killed by zombies at night.

Then, Ellie and Sonny, along with Frank Lawson, David Lee, and other strong individuals, killed several advanced zombies, obtaining some Crystals, which Ellie used to enhance a mutated queen bee.
Ellie used the mutated queen bee to kill all the advanced zombies, clearing the Escape World.
However, this time, Jason's intervention caused some deviations for Ellie, but she eventually returned to her original path.
Next, Ellie just needed to enhance the mutated queen bee, kill all the advanced zombies, and she would clear the Escape World.
After Sonny left, only Jason, Ellie, and Kira remained.
Jason then shared the information Sonny had sold him with Ellie.
Ellie was overjoyed. She knew it. Mutated wasps could indeed be further enhanced.
While the current mutated wasps appeared fearsome, they weren't particularly strong, only capable of killing regular zombies.
David Lee and his gang's ability to defeat the mutated wasps was a good example.
So, the three of them decided to first enhance a mutated queen bee.
Ellie was hesitant, saying, "Jason, my mental power isn't enough. I'll have to kill the remaining mutated wasps first to have enough mental power to control the mutated queen bee."
According to Sonny's information, Ellie's mental power was limited, and a mutated queen bee would occupy most of it.
If she didn't kill the mutated wasps, Ellie wouldn't be able to control the mutated queen bee at all.
Jason waved his hand, directly exchanging a D-Rank Attribute Orb for Ellie.
"No need for all that trouble. Just enhance your Spirit stat to D-Rank."
Ellie's eyes lit up. Jason really had a D-Rank Attribute Orb.
Kira had told her last night that Jason had the ability to acquire Attribute Orbs.
Originally, she was going to surrender after only one round last night, but after Kira persuaded her, Ellie gritted her teeth and endured two more rounds.
She suffered quite a bit.
Ellie squeezed her legs together, blushingly snatching the Attribute Orb.
She wasn't being polite about taking Jason's Attribute Orb now, considering how much effort she had put in.
Soon, Ellie enhanced her Spirit stat to D-Rank, and Jason took out five Crystals.
A wasp needed to absorb five Crystals to become a mutated queen bee.
Without Sonny's information, Ellie wouldn't have invested five Crystals into enhancing a single wasp, so without Sonny's information, it would be very difficult to create a mutated queen bee.
Ten minutes later…
Under the watchful eyes of Jason, Ellie, and Kira, the wasp that absorbed five Crystals continued to expand, exceeding the size of the mutated wasps.
It was even approaching the size of a human. It had absorbed five Crystals, so it had plenty of energy inside its body.
Finally, a large wasp with a body length of about four feet appeared before Jason, Ellie, and Kira.
"This is the queen bee?" Kira gasped, covering her mouth.
She looked at Ellie, who was five foot three inches tall, and realized that the mutated queen bee was about the same size as Ellie.
The mutated queen bee had wings and a sharp, pointed stinger.
Jason stroked his chin, already anticipating the scene of the mutated queen bee flying over the swarm of zombies, finding an advanced zombie, and then flying over to stab the advanced zombie to death with its stinger.
Ellie clenched her small fist excitedly. She was extremely satisfied with this mutated queen bee.
After enhancing the mutated queen bee, the three of them headed back to the park.
Outside the park, forty or fifty people were discussing and arguing with each other.
Frank Lawson was arguing red-faced with someone, Sonny Zendt stood aside, minding his own business, and Joseph hid in the crowd.
When Jason returned, everyone's eyes lit up, and they immediately surrounded him.
"Jason, many of our teams' rankings have dropped. We might not be able to help you lure zombies anymore."
Currently, there were still more than sixty teams on the leaderboard.
The bottom forty teams were killing zombies all over the city, increasing their scores rapidly.
While those in the top twenty had higher scores, the gap would gradually close over time, and their rankings would drop.
Frank Lawson, standing nearby, complained, "Don't you people know that killing advanced zombies is the most important thing?"
"If we work hard, we can kill all the advanced zombies by tomorrow."
Jason solved six advanced zombies in an hour, giving Frank Lawson hope of clearing the Escape World.
So, he fully supported Jason in killing zombies.
"Easy for you to say, you're ranked second, you have plenty of points, of course you don't worry about anything."
"My ranking has already dropped to twenty-eighth. If I continue to lure zombies, my ranking will drop below fortieth today, and I'll be killed by zombies tonight," someone immediately expressed their concerns.
