Time passed, Onex’s body started to feel more alive again. His senses became sharper, and the pleading voice was still heard every time he woke up.

  It has only been 4 weeks since he got his injury. Anna would stop by often and give reports while checking Onex’s condition. According to Anna, it will take another week or two to make a full recover.

  From what he heard. His land has expanded because of the portion of the land of sailing he retrieved. They got metals as well, allowing steel weapons and durable shields. The population as also increased and so have the farms.

  A few weeks later, Onex finally finished recovering. Anna slowly removed the stitches from the healed wound and let him be for a while.

  He slowly got up, making sure not to make any sudden movements. Due to staying in bed for so long, it was difficult to walk. But he got the hang of it after a little while.

  Once he did so, he went outside. His kingdom had rapid growth during the time he was out just as Anna said.

  He walked around. Unsure of what actions to take next. Nearby, John was talking to someone who Onex hasn’t seen before.

  That must be someone from the King of Sailing’s island.

  Onex thought as he walked past the two of them. He lightly scratched his head as he looked around. People were talking, laughing, doing work. It was almost like he was up on the surface again.

  But he wasn’t, and the fact that the island was starting to shake made him realize that even more.

  “Huh?” Onex expressed his confusion as the island started to shake.

  Some other people were also confused, while others started to panic. Onex wasn’t sure why, but he understood when he looked into the void.

  A tall thin, almost a skeleton, figure, so tall it didn’t even stand on the island loomed over the island, casting it under a deep shadow. It seemed to be made of TV static, and just its presence put a strong force on the island. Strong enough to damage buildings.

  Onex took a step back. His eyes wide in fear under his mask. He felt hopeless, powerless, small. And the people around seemed to have felt the same thing.

  This was something unlike anything Onex has ever seen. It was overwhelming, so overwhelming, people started to run as far as they could from this creature.

  Onex knew he couldn’t even try to fight that thing. After all, he struggled to fight humans. How could he fight something of this caliber. So, he used his mask’s ability to try to escape this creature as fast as possible.

  But even with his island moving at its max speed. The just needed to take a single step to catch up. Onex felt panic starting to settle in. And that feeling on intensified once he saw the impossibly long arm swinging down at his island.

  The hand hit the island faster and stronger than a thousand lightning bolts. This sent a large portion of Onex’s land out into the void, the sudden loss of mass helped increased the speed. But it still wasn’t enough to escape from the monster.

  Onex’s breath became unstably. He trembled with wide eyes and a pale face. The people of his island were either cowering in fear or trying to act brave, which they were failing miserably at. That’s when Onex heard the pleading voice.

  “Kill it.”

  It repeated a few times.

  Kill it? How am I supposed to kill that thing!

  Onex looked up at the monstrous creature with fear, the voice then spoke again, as if it read Onex’s mind.

  “You can’t outrun it. So, kill it.”

  Somehow, Onex felt calmer. It was hard to tell if it was because of the pendulum, or the voice instructing him to kill this thing. But it made him feel much more willing to try to kill it.

  Onex sighed and split the island into many pieces. This is so he could increase the speed in the islands and help his people escape.

  But he stood alone on a small island with a sword. He glanced him at the imposing figure and pointing his sword at it.

  “Hey! Down here you demon!” He yelled out to the creature, to his surprise, the creature looked down and a smile—a smile that seemed to shift, appeared on its face. Then it spoke.

  “A human stayed to fight?” The creature's voice was distorted, like the voice Onex would hear when conquering a new island. But this voice was different, it was hostile. And it made Onex felt like his insides were going to explode.

  Onex took a deep breath to help numb the pain and calm his nerves, “I don’t know how. But I will kill you!”

  The creature laughed, “The human thinks he can beat me?” Onex felt his knees buckle as he coughed out blood, whatever this creature was, it had unimaginable power.

  Onex slowly sat up. Wiping blood away from his mouth and forced a smile. His heart was pounding so fast it might as well burst.

  Onex still trembled in fear, but something still calmed him.

  He raised his sword and moved his small platform as fast as he could towards the monster. But the monsters smile turned beast like as it swung its arm at Onex.

  Onex reacted fast, he moved his island up slightly and jumped onto the monster's arm. Then he pierced his sword into its arm to stop himself from falling into the void.

  Huff! Huff! Huff! Onex panted for breath as he slowly got to a more stable position on the monster's arm. Then he fully got up and started to run up the monster's arm.

  But the other arm of the monster came flying down towards him. So, Onex jumped off the arm he was standing on, stabbed his sword into the side of its arm to hold him while he moved his island below him so he could safely get off the demon's arm.

  Onex stood there for a moment to catch his breath. He then switched to a different strategy and went under the monster's right arm and cut the bottom of it. Then the sides of it, then he jumped onto the top of the arm and cut through it.

  The monsters arm fell into the deep abyss. White blood flew out from its arm as it let out a roar of agony. The roar made Onex lose balance and cough up blood while falling off.

  Thankfully, Onex landed back on his small island. He laid there for a moment before wiping the blood off once again and standing up.

  The monster glared down at Onex, who smiled to himself. Proud of his achievement. But he didn’t have time for that as the left arm came swinging upon him.

  If Onex had the strength in mythology, he could cut off the monster's hand right here and now. But he didn’t, so he had to use other methods to deal with this.

  The hand approached at high speeds. Onex raised his island above the hand at the last second before jumping down and putting his sword through the back of its hand.

  Once he did that. Onex then pulled the sword out and worked on cutting the monsters hand off. It was much thinner, making it easier to cut off rather than a full arm. This caused the monster to stagger backwards, letting out another roar and shook it’s left arm.

  Onex coughed blood once more and was launched off its arm. Onex almost had to fall through the void again if he didn’t move is island fast enough.

  Once he landed, he looked at the towering creature that was walking backwards with a missing arm and hand. Which caused Onex to smile.

  He then flew to the monster's face as fast as he could. His heart pounding with a mixture of fear of adrenaline, he pierced the monster's head. Causing it to start a fizzling sound and a emit a strong smell.

  The monsters face started to swell as Onex jumped down onto his small island. Collapsing and panting for air.

  The monsters swelled face started to turn into darkness. And this spread until the entire monster's body was consumed by the void. Which Onex let out a sigh of relief at the sight. Then he heard the voids voice.

  Onex got curios of what that item would be. And his curiosity was soon clenched as a katana appeared before him. It was made of a black metal with an X marked at the end of its hilt. A sheath soon appeared as well and text appeared as well.

  Onex looked over the stats of his new sword while sheathing it. After doing so, he put the sheath on his hip and used his mask to bring all of his island back together.

  Soon enough, Onex had got all his islands back together. Anna rushed over to Onex with concern in her eyes.

  “What do you think you were doing! You just got out of bed, and you went to fight some sort of demon?” She scolded.

  “Well what else was I supposed to do?”

  “I don’t know, maybe something that wouldn’t end up killing you.” She exclaimed with a sigh while turning away, “Don’t do anything like that ever again.”

  Onex lightly scratched the back of his head as Anna walked away. He looked around at his people who still seemed to be in distress and panicked. Clearly traumatized.
