I have the guardian crawler, who I should probably individually name at some point, start to pick out some of the gems for later. Now though I return to the little table in the graveyard and look at the first set of gifts I have been given. On the sheet of rather fine material that the bundle was wrapped in is a few small tools, I don’t quite know what for though. Terra looks at the lead kobold for an explanation and he obliges us.
“These are some of the finer gem worker tools we could spare, the great one spoke of you as a dungeon of the earth and so we believed it best to bring tools that could work with some of its finer bounties. We hope it is to your liking.” I couldn’t argue with that, the tools where very well crafted as I examined them up close. They where also rather good for allowing me to experiment with my gems more closely and maybe try some things with them. I would need a creature dedicated to the craft but that shouldn’t be so hard…..though feeling down that line of questioning I can feel myself near the limit of what I can create or summon.
Another of the band of kobolds comes up carrying a larger bag, it seemed to be fairly heavy but there wasn’t much point of comparison for these creatures strength right now. Setting it down they pull out a few trinkets that seemed to radiate a small bit of power, each of them carved from some form of volcanic stone.
“these are tools of power carved from the great one’s walls. They contain a fraction of power that should allow you to grow and understand.” Interesting. I could feel the energy of another ddungoen on these for sure but the carving seemed to be hand done. Checking over my own walls I can confirm that there wasn’t too much power suffusing them but the areas I had carved in the boss room where saturated. There was an intent in creating that seemed to amplify just how much energy something could hold. Maybe that is how enchantment started, with raw intent? Something to experiment with later as the last few kobolds approach, they all seemed to be carrying a single large bundle each. “as a dungeon of death the great one and the mistress both agreed to gift you these. Please be respectful of it as these are precious things to a dragon.” There was a hesitance to the other as he spoke before they unveiled their bundles.
Bones, bleached white bones larger then Terra’s arm, and I could feel the potential in them when I laid my eye on them. If I had to guess, based on the reverence that the kobolds put on them, and the words I was told, these are dragon bones. Terra seemed to inspect them along with me, and I couldn’t quite tell from what part of the dragon they came from. What I can tell is that the five or six pieces are all from the same dragon. I ask Terra to bow for me and he follows suit in the gesture of thanks, this is genuinely something that I feel could help out. The main thing I am curious of is if I can use these bundle wrappings to figure out how to make more cloth. Though what also comes to mind is how I might be able to use the dragon bones to make a more interesting final boss, or improve my current skeletons.
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
“I thank you for these, and tell….the great one, that I am happy to have cleared up any misunderstandings.” As I say that I push the centipede golem to begin carrying the gems forward. There is a moments hesitation before the kobolds relax as the carrier golem left the gems. “please take these to him in a show of my thanks, and the hopes that good relations may continue”
They nod and begin to put the gems aside, though the leader kobold speaks up, “If we may impose, we request a day or two in your lands to rest and prepare for the journey home.” Ah that makes sense, since they are quite a ways away from the dragon dungeon. Terra gives a small nod for me as I see no problem with them staying. Though I do give orders for one of my skeletons to keep an eye on them as they begin heading out and set up a small encampment. They where definitely ready fort the journey I can give them that. With that in hand I look at the table and the gifts they set out, thinking about what I can do.
