“I sacrifice these offerings for the Heavenly might to descend and grant me [Peak Physique].”
Placing both the Blood Essence and the Ironwood seeds, Kenji slowly spoke the words.
As Kenji finished reciting, a Heavenly Aura descended upon his body out of nowhere.
CRACK! CRACK!
Not moments after the Heavenly Aura descended, cracking sounds started coming from Kenji's body.
It wasn't all; with each passing moment, the Heavenly Aura kept increasing.
Around half a minute later, Kenji was on the ground, struggling to even catch his breath.
“Ne…ed to hold… on.” Lying flat on the ground, Kenji struggled to breathe, and he still needed to hold on for another half a minute.
CRACK! CRACK!!
“Ahhhhh!” Just as the might of the Heavenly Aura was about to stop, bone-snapping sounds echoed throughout the room, and Kenji screamed in pain.
Feeling that Kenji might die if it continued, the Heavenly Aura silently disappeared before the one-minute mark.
“No……” Feeling the Heavenly Aura disappear, Kenji was about to celebrate, but no system notification sounded to congratulate him. He had failed.
Soon after the Heavenly Aura vanished, Kenji passed out from the overwhelming pain.
“Kenji, is everything alright?” Some time after Kenji passed out, Kevin knocked on his door.
Kevin was preparing food in the kitchen when, out of nowhere, he heard Kenji wailing in pain.
Abandoning whatever he was doing, he rushed over to check on him.
Receiving no reply, Kevin tried to open the door. Unfortunately, it was locked, and only Kenji had the keys.
Bang! Bang!!

With no better option, Kevin began pounding on the door. Even then, there was no response aside from faint groaning sounds.
With each passing moment, his worry deepened. Left with no other choice, he hurried back to the kitchen to grab something he could use to pry the door open.
“Kenji, Kenji.” After much effort, the door finally gave way. Kevin found Kenji lying on the floor, his face twisted in agony.
“Ahhhhhh!!!” The moment Kevin touched him, Kenji screamed in pain.
“This…” Seeing Kenji in such a state, Kevin did not hesitate any longer. He immediately called the other two non-hunters in the housing complex, and together they rushed Kenji to a nearby Fairy clinic.
“Let me get this straight. You humans carried him here on your backs?
No wonder his injuries are so severe. After failing the trial, no one gave him a Cleansing Potion. Residual Heavenly Aura has been damaging his body internally, and that bumpy journey only made things worse. What a troublesome case.”
As he spoke, the Fairy doctor scolded Kevin and the others before beginning treatment.
“This human…” Midway through, the doctor suddenly paused and took a closer look at Kenji’s physique.
“What a sin. With a body like this, becoming a Supreme Magician is practically guaranteed. What a terrible waste of natural talent.”
Even as he stabilized Kenji’s injuries, the Fairy doctor continued muttering to himself.
After ensuring that Kenji’s internal organs were safe, the Fairy doctor first manually collected all the Heavenly Aura within his body and then proceeded to remove the bone shards drifting around inside him.
After that, the Fairy doctor fed him a Grade 2 Bone Repair Pill, highly effective potion for partial bone cracks.
As the Bone Repair Pill dissolved in Kenji’s stomach acid, the energy released from it began working its magic. Half an hour later, color returned to Kenji’s face, and the Fairy doctor instructed someone to move him to the Recovery Room.
Knowing that Kenji was no longer in danger, Kevin and Ryan left, leaving Maria behind to watch over him.
“Where am I?” After fifteen minutes in the Recovery Room, Kenji woke up. As he looked around at the room filled with beds, memories flooded his mind.
“I failed,” Kenji muttered in a defeated voice. Once again, his weak physique had caused him serious harm.
Passing the first Heavenly Trial was supposed to be easy. At least, Kenji had never heard of anyone failing it.
With a heavy heart, he focused on absorbing the healing particles around him to eliminate any hidden injuries. Although he appeared calm with his eyes closed, deep inside, his heart was bleeding.
First, he had lost materials worth fifteen silver coins, and now there was the clinic bill. At this rate, he would soon be drowning in debt.
Hospital visits were never cheap. The last time he had suffered a minor foot injury, it had already cost him an entire silver coin.
Time passed slowly, and soon the timer on his bed stopped. Seeing this, Kenji got up and left the room.
“Bill!”
As Kenji opened the door to the Recovery Room, a tiny piece of paper flew toward him along with a recorded voice.
Taking the paper, which was his clinic bill, Kenji headed toward the lobby, where Maria was waiting.
“Kenji, how are you feeling?” Maria asked. She wanted to say more words of concern, but knowing her husband’s relationship with Kenji, she held back.
“Better. Sorry for all the trouble,” Kenji replied. After that, he walked to the front desk to ask about his clothes. After all, almost all his savings were in his pockets.
“Kenji, take these. It will help a little.” As Kenji turned around, Maria stopped him and tried to hand him a few copper coins.
Those coins were all of Maria’s savings. She wanted to help the poor boy who had suffered because of her husband.
“Thanks, but I have some savings. I’ll manage,” Kenji said. After being bullied for so many years, Kenji had established some ironclad rules.
First, never stand up to bullies, as it only makes things worse.
Second, act as obedient as possible to get them off your back.
Third, and most important, never get close to anyone even slightly related to the bully.
These rules were not established overnight. Kenji had learned them in a very painful way.
“Where can I get my clothes?” Kenji asked as he approached the front desk, speaking to the Fairy working there.
“Let’s see. Number 57. Wait a moment, your clothes will arrive shortly,” the Fairy replied after the slip of paper in Kenji’s hand magically floated over to her.
“Kenjiiii!!” As Kenji waited for his clothes, an angry voice suddenly echoed from the entrance of the clinic.
