By the end of the day, Kenji had a total of seven clean carcasses that could be sold. So, with the help of a rope, he tied all of them to his back.
“Too heavy!” The moment the weight of the carcasses came crashing down on his back, Kenji knew he wouldn’t be able to carry them like this.
After thinking for a while, Kenji came up with a clever idea.
He piled ten Kobold carcasses on top of each other and started dragging them with the help of a rope.
The journey that usually took around an hour lasted two whole hours. However, it was worth it, as Kenji earned 2.2 Silver coins for all his effort.

After getting rid of the monster carcasses, Kenji happily headed toward the Fairy Market, specifically the Library.
As Kenji arrived at the Library, there was no sign of Mary. He waited for half an hour, but nothing.
Growing a little impatient, Kenji entered the Library to look for Mary. However, since the Library was so big,he soon got lost.
“W-where is…the exit?” After asking a few people, Kenji was finally able to find his way out of the Library.
By the time Kenji got out of the Library, Mary was standing there, looking around for him.
“Were you studying something?” Mary was surprised to see Kenji come out of the Library. “Here, take these and see if you can learn them.”
Mary didn’t dwell much on Kenji coming out of the Library. Instead, she handed him two [Skill Manuals].
“And no need to rush to return them. Also, yesterday I went through the catalog of F-rank gifts and found a few suitable ones for you… Not gonna sit?” Finding a good spot on the staircase, Mary sat down.

“The gifts are [Clear Mind], [Sixth Sense], and [Recovery]. [Clear Mind] can come in handy when facing a desperate situation, as it can calm the mind and let one think more clearly. [Sixth Sense], on the other hand, is even better. It can help sense when danger is approaching.
Lastly, [Recovery] has a lot of potential, as it grants an extra 30 percent Ki recovery rate, which can really help when your reserves are in the tens of thousands.”
Mary laid out the details of the three gifts she had spent the whole night selecting for Kenji.
Kenji silently made note of the gifts that Mary mentioned. After that, both of them talked a little longer before Mary had to leave.
Returning to the housing complex, Kenji ate some food with everyone before going to his bed and drifting into sleep.

The next day, Kenji spent the whole day practising the two skills that Mary got for him.
Mastering [Bull Fist] was easy, because the principles behind [Ki Blade] and [Bull Fist] were very similar.
To use [Bull Fist], one needs to draw Ki into the arms and coat the knuckles with Ki. The more Ki is coating the fist, the higher the damage will be.
Since Kenji already had experience guiding Ki to his arm, it only took four hours to master [Bull Fist].
As for [Fire Ball], Kenji had a very hard time wrapping his head around it. How was one supposed to gather fire elements and infuse them with Ki to form a ball of fire?
Following the step-by-step process of sensing the fire elements in the [Skill Manual], Kenji wasted three whole hours without any progress.
All Kenji could feel were spiral waves of Ki moving about in the air.
“Forget… about it.” Finally admitting defeat, Kenji put away the [Skill Manual: Fire Ball].
After resting for some time, Kenji headed toward the Fairy Market to find Mary.
However, he lingered around the Library for two whole hours, but there was no sign of Mary.
“Maybe… she got… held up.” Like a lost puppy, Kenji waited for another hour, hoping that Mary would come. But soon it was dark, and there was still no sign of Mary.
Disheartened, Kenji dragged his body back to his room and drifted into sleep without eating a bite.

The next day, Kenji popped a food pill, got his gear, and headed straight for the Kobold caves.
As Kenji arrived at one of the Kobold cave entrances, two amateur hunters were already there.
“Heading inside? Wanna team up?” One of them asked, hoping to make their first experience less dangerous.
“S..sure.” After thinking for a moment, Kenji decided to team up with the duo.
“Great, my name is Muhammad and he is Duy. What about you?” Muhammad introduced himself with a smile.
Both him and Duy had been thinking about going hunting for a while now. But unfortunately, they didn’t have enough money for any gifts, weapons, or skills.
So, for the last two months, they worked themselves to the bone. From transporting monster carcasses to babysitting, they did everything that could earn them a little bit of money.
Slowly, bit by bit, they got their first Gift, after which both of them bought [Skill Books], and finally today they bought two simple swords and headed straight for the Kobold cave for experience.
“Kenji.” After telling his name to his first-ever teammates, Kenji entered the cave, acting as their guide.
As the three of them headed deeper into the cave, they soon came across a group of five Kobolds. Without any hesitation, Kenji launched a [Ki Blade] at them, killing three of them in the process.
The other two charged at Kenji with blood in their eyes. Just as he was thinking of using [Flash] to put a little distance between him and the Kobolds, both Muhammad and Duy acted, killing the other Kobolds in an instant.
“That was easy, didn’t know you had such a good skill.” Happy with his first kill, Muhammad said.
“How are we going to split the spoils?” Duy asked, looking at the five dead Kobolds that would go for more than a Silver coin.
Hearing the question, Muhammad didn’t speak. Instead, he looked at Kenji, as he was the one with the most kills.
“I…I need Ki.” Kenji, who had never been in a team before, had no idea how the spoils were distributed.
“How about you collect all the Ki, and we split it 40–30–30. You take 40 percent, while we both take 30 each.” Muhammad spoke in a soft voice, fearing Kenji might not like his idea.
After all, Kenji killed three Kobolds with a single move, much more than both of them combined.
