Chapter 52: F-rank Gift [Recovery]

Getting the gift for Mary, Kenji stopped by the Treasure House to buy the materials needed for the F-rank Gift [Recovery].

The materials weren't that expensive, and he only spent 2 gold coins in total.

Returning to his room, Kenji changed his clothes and then placed all the materials before him.

“I sacrifice these offerings for the Heavenly might to descend and grant me [Recovery].”

After Kenji finished speaking, a magic circle appeared under the materials, and soon all the materials disappeared as Heavenly Aura began to descend.

Unlike the first time, when Kenji had difficulty breathing under the Heavenly Aura, this time it hardly had any effect on him.

Soon after the Heavenly Aura dissipated, Kenji heard a voice sound in his head.

As the voice stopped, Kenji quickly opened his stats window to check.

  [User: Kenji

  Age: 18

  Ki: 822

  Profession: None

  Innate Ability: Devour

  Heavenly Gift: Recovery (F)

Skills: Flash (E), Ki Blade (E), Bull Fist (F)]

After checking his stats, Kenji happily went to sleep.

  [Ancient Calendar: 24 Mar 0001]

The next day, after waking up, Kenji headed toward the city gate. Since yesterday he had eaten so much food, he didn't take a food pill.

Using [Flash] multiple times and running, Kenji soon arrived at the city gate.

“Kenji, is that you?” Just as Kenji was about to make his way toward the place where Zhen, Anon, and Joon always gathered, he saw Duy heading his way.

“Duy… how is Muhammed?” Greeting Duy, Kenji asked about Muhammed. The last he checked, Muhammed was badly injured.

“He recovered. Come, come, let me show you our new business.” Duy excitedly pulled Kenji and headed for the notice area.

“No problem, just give us a call. The cart will be there in half an hour.” Arriving at the notice area, Kenji saw Muhammed standing before a crudely built cart.

“Kenji, how are you doing?” Muhammed greeted Kenji as he saw him walk up.

“Good… You’ve been… transporting carcasses?” Seeing Muhammed surrounded by people from various parties, Kenji asked.

“Yeah, my father helped me build this while I was recovering, and we have been using it to transport carcasses ever…”

“Let me tell you, during the Monster Tide we earned more than 5 gold coins every day.” Before Muhammed could finish, Duy said braggingly.

Muhammed's father is a skilled carpenter, and some time ago he found an apprentice blacksmith to help him make some tools.

With the help of those tools, he was quickly able to put together a cart and make his son independent.

Although there wasn't a horse to pull the cart, Muhammed and Duy had been able to pull the cart with hundreds of kilograms of weight by themselves.

It wasn't long before hunters flocked to them to avail their transportation service. Many hunters even approached them to buy the cart itself.

So, for the past week, Duy and Muhammed have been very busy.

During the day they run the transport business with the help of the cart, and in the evening they help build carts to sell.

Muhammed has even accepted advance payment for the carts.

“So, you both… are businessmen… now.” Seeing both Muhammed and Duy become successful, Kenji had a hard time describing what he was feeling.

Was he happy that someone he knew got successful, or was he envious?

“No, no, it’s entrepreneurs.” Duy said in a dramatic voice. “Kenji, wanna grab some food later in the evening?”

Duy invited Kenji, while Muhammed got busy with hunters who were looking to book the cart for their party.

“Sure,” Kenji didn’t reject Duy. Recently, he wasn’t busy with Body Refining and had much time on his hands.

As for the skills [Enforce] and [Beam], he wasn’t in any hurry to master them.

“Great, meet me here around 6.” Duy was a little happy.

Kenji was the first hunter they had the chance of hunting monsters with, and he always felt Kenji was a good guy who was also very strong, which put him at the top of his make-friends list.

“Okay.” Soon, Muhammed also returned, and they had a little catching up before Kenji left.

“Kenji, finally, let’s go.” The moment Zhen caught sight of Kenji, he urged him to hurry up.

They were still going to continue searching for treasure chests today, and Zhen didn’t want the treasure chests to be snatched away by others.

“Kenji, take out your call stone, let me add you.” Along the way, Joon asked Kenji to take out the call stone.

“Ah, it completely… slipped my… mind.” Yesterday, Kenji got so lost in the liveliness of the Aqua Market that he forgot about buying a call stone.

“Remember to buy it today.” Joon didn’t blame Kenji, as yesterday they returned really late.

Pretty soon, they arrived at the Grey Hounds territory, and same as yesterday, Kenji and Zhen would go after the Grey Hound while Joon and Anon would begin searching the area for the treasure chest.

“Found it.” Seeing the big treasure chest, Kenji called out to the others. Excited, everyone rushed over.

They had searched two areas before but didn’t find a thing, and just as Zhen was thinking of leading them to the next area, they heard Kenji’s voice.

Today, because of the recently acquired F-rank Gift [Recovery], Kenji was able to replenish his lost Ki much faster and help in searching for the treasure chests.

“Just a Bronze one.” Arriving at Kenji’s location, Zhen, Joon, and Anon were disappointed when they saw the Bronze-rank Treasure Chest.

“Let’s just open it, maybe we will get something good.” Seeing that it was just a Bronze-rank Treasure Chest, Zhen didn’t want to sell it; instead, he wanted to try his luck again.

As the Bronze chest opened, a light flashed before the item inside became visible.

  “An E-rank accessory.”

  “What…are its…stats?”

  “Trash.”

Seeing a ring inside the chest, everyone was disappointed.

“It increases Ki absorption speed by 5 percent. Here, keep it.” Since Kenji was curious about the ring, Zhen tossed it to him.

After hiding the Grey Hound carcass, they headed for the next area, where they again didn’t find any chest.

  [Ki: 822→832]

“I don’t think we are going to find any more chests.” Anon complained as they had to check every nook and corner for the treasure chests, which was not only time-consuming but also tiring.

“Fine, go get 5 workers.” Zhen was also getting increasingly disappointed; it seemed everything had been cleared clean by someone.

As Anon went to get workers, Zhen, Kenji, and Joon hunted another Grey Hound and searched its area for a treasure chest.

  Unfortunately, they still found nothing.
