Allia Tredwel’s days at the Thistlehow Academy for the Magically Gifted are filled with fruitful study mixed with the pleasant leisure of times with friends in the beautiful coastal city of Newflor. However, her good life is interrupted when she must foil a plot by a rogue(?) group of ‘demon’ soldiers to steal her professor’s special research project – along with the professor. To uncover the mystery behind the attack, she must leave her native archipelago paradise and go to the perilous ‘mainland’ where foreboding ancient ruins hold unimagined danger but also wonder – taking her friends on the adventure for good and ill.
