Step! Slash!
Since I’m taking this more seriously, everything that I will do will also follow the same concept. I dash towards the Crystal Fortress and as you can expect, I cover the distance between us in a blink of an eye. Once I was close to his left leg/arm, with a simple swing I cut down his leg/arm in half. The blade of my sword sliced through its Crystal body and armour like it was cutting butter. If before anyone had doubts about this sword then now, they all should be gone, it truly is a masterpiece of a sword. The Crystal beast does not complain at all as it falls down to its side, in fact, it faces me as it does so. In other words, it’s about to unleash the Blast Cannon. Is this a suicidal attack? It does not seem like it, but if it wants to do such an attack, who am I to say no? Yep, I will dodge this right after he unleashes the spell, this way he has no choice but to hit himself with it.
Pew! Blast! Whoosh!
There was no difference in terms of power compared to the previous one and while I easily dodge it by “just” sidestepping 40 or so meters, the Crystal beast got fully hit by the blast. Everything went like before, the ground shook with the force of the explosion, a strong shockwave follows the blast and the Crystal Fortress is still standing up, although a bit crooked. It’s more than evident that it did not get affected by its own spell. Now that’s interesting, what just happen? Is it immune to its own spells? Or is it that its magic defence is far greater than its magic offence? I didn’t feel much resistance to my swing, but to be honest that was my intent so I ended up making the swing strength at A+ rank, not only that, this swing was pure physical, no magic attached to it. Although I wouldn’t doubt if its magic defence was in that realm. Not that it matters, it won’t change what I have to do. Defeat him.
Step! Slash!
I do the exact same thing but to the other side, after all, it worked perfectly before, why would it be any different now? Definitely not going to jinx myself with that. Once again, the blade of my sword goes right through its arm/leg, cutting in half in the process. Only 5 seconds have gone by, way less than those 30 seconds. Not only that, the Crystal Fortress fell down into its face as I sliced down its other leg/arm. Something is wrong though, something in the air as they say-
“!!!”
Spike! Spike! Spike!
Holy crap! I narrowly dodged all of them, but that was a close one man! I was right in front of him ready to strike him down and end this once and for all only for now to be around 100 meters from him, in other words I’m at the entrance. But let me explain what happened. From the ground several spikes made of Crystal emerge from within the ground. These spikes are close to 1.25 meters long and with a thickness of 50 centimetres at the base, getting thinner and thinner until they reach the tip, one that seems to be able to easily pierce through even the strongest metal known to mankind. These spikes emerged all around the Crystal Fortress in an area of 30 or so meters with the beast in the middle, but now that I’m looking at the situation better, he did get hit by a few spikes although I don’t think it did much to him. If I got hit by one of those it wouldn’t be pretty to say the least and thank god I had my guard up as I would’ve definitely got stabbed by one of those. I dodged them by jumping backwards, getting quite the air time with it, but this made me gain some distance from the Crystal Fortress and as you can guess, 30 seconds have gone by and the thing is ready to unleash another Blast Cannon at me. With its tail, it’s somehow able to raise its face towards me, just enough to clear ground clearance so that the spell does not hit the ground. I sure didn’t expect it to be this resourceful.
Pew! Blast! Whoosh!
Mere moments later the spell is unleashed towards me, this time however I easily dodge it by sidestepping to the side. I saw this coming so it was easy to predict where it was aiming at, but once again I’m caught with a surprise.

Magic noises!
Remember the spikes? The ones that almost stabbed me right in those parts? Yeah those. At the same time the beast somehow made said spikes go up in the air, then it made them point at me and after that, once I dodge the Cannon Blast, it shot every single one of them at me, and they sure are fast. I’m talking about more than 100 of them coming at me and as I said they are not slow at all. I can deflect every single one of them but once I’m done doing so, he will have another Blast Cannon ready to be unleashed at me again. I’m starting to get annoyed at the spam. My other choice is to take all of the spikes in one go.
“Barrier.”
A simple word with a simple meaning, but in this case, its efficiency is well above simple. The spikes come flying down at me with great speed however, instead of hitting me they hit the barrier that I deployed. This barrier is similar to the one that I used earlier, but in this case rather than being one that surrounds my entire body and only that, now it’s a barrier that surrounds me in an area. A small one at that since I’m the only one here. The spikes hit the barrier and they bounce back, but the moment they hit the barrier the tip of them gets destroyed rendering them useless for further attempts in case the Crystal Fortress tries to do the same thing. After a few seconds, 30 in this case, the volley of the spikes ends, but with that, another event starts.
Blast!
Another Blast Cannon is shot at me, but just like the spikes, it hits the barrier and just like them, it was left useless as it did not do a single drop of damage to the barrier. Maybe it’s because it didn’t hit the ground but the explosion was much weaker than before, I also say this because the magic levels were almost the same so it’s odd for the explosion to be weaker, unless…
“Unless it was trying to pierce through my barrier.”
This is ridiculous! It can’t be! That would mean that this thing is as intelligent as the Crystal Knights! Wait, that can explain the spam and why it ended up hitting himself with its own spell. It’s studying me! How I react, what will be effective against me, how I will act, everything about me. These monsters are terrifying, far too smart for their own good, or should I say our good? Argh, I just wish these things are not unleashed into the world. Not that they aren’t already… At least this one isn’t so I have another reason to take care of this beast right this moment.
“This is the end. Light – Holy Strike!”
Swish! Slash!
Time to put to use the Paladin White Sword and its magical properties. I raise my arms as far as I can, from there I pour a little magic into the sword, making it shine with a bright light. No need for incantations or anything like, just pour enough magic to the sword and it’s ready to go, that’s why Magical Swords are so powerful. Once the sword was ready to unleash its spell, I swing it downwards and aimed at the Crystal Fortress and from the sword itself a line made of Holy magic is unleashed towards the beast. This spell is very similar to the Anemo spell Wind Blade but rather than being coloured in green and with the element Anemo on it, instead it has a yellow tone to it and with the Light element on it. It also curves both at the end and at the beginning but it has a slight curve to it, nothing too drastic. Either way, the spell travels at great speed reaching the Crystal Fortress in a second or so, cutting him in half once it hits him. The beast crumbles down into nothing once it was defeated, the spell cut him clean in half and as far as I know there isn’t anything in this world that could be cut in half and survive but hey, after all of this, I’m not so sure something like that does not exist, at least here. Enough of this, right after I defeated him, a door appears where he was, one that is far too familiar.
“Wait, are you telling me this is the end?”
I’m in disbelief as I see this door, one that is made of wood, oak wood to be precise. Ah, for how long did I long for this? Seriously, my eyes were somewhat wide open as I saw the door materialize basically in front of me, and let me tell, what a beauty! Haha! I will be out of here in a few moments! With my hopes high, my happiness even higher, I get my beautiful Heroic rear moving towards the door. Each of my footsteps are long and loud, but the smile on my face is somehow longer and louder. I’m getting a little too excited, I should calm down after all, I might be mere moments from meeting the owner of this place. And if this individual created this place, these monsters, the Crystal Whale, then I will basically be facing someone close to my level, to the Hero level. I don’t think that said individual is the Demon Lord but, I can’t throw that possibility out the window.
Ah, how happy I was. However, happiness is nothing more than a state of emotions, one that comes and goes. Something that can happen in a span of moments.
