Pov: Kenzo

  ...

  I yawn and open my eyes to survey the area, Naruto is awake and making breakfast.

  "What are you making" I groan from my pillow.

  "A special variation of fried rice, you see I am repcing the rice with-" I interrupt him before he continues.

  "Nope, just say your making ramen for breakfast instead repcing every ingredient in fried rice with ramen" I yawn again and stretch as I get up.

  "Fine- Fine~ you want some?" He asks.

  "No, you eat your ramen, I will make myself something ter- maybe just pop some bread in the toaster while I get dressed would you?" I ask and start getting dressed in my uniform.

  He nods and starts putting toast on for me- I will eat that and then go speak to Hokage about the 'surprise' potential stuff I did.

  I should do that now and then after I check that I need to finish my weekly written report to give Ibiki the mega boss I still haven't met yet.

  But after that I get some free time to use the next challenge scroll, I will do defence and then siege as the siege will definitely be quicker and done with within a day or so.

  At least I hope so.

  I spread butter onto toast and start eating my two pieces as I walk out the door.

  "Enjoy school Naruto" I wave as I leave.

  "Its the weekend Kenzo! I'm inviting my friends over so no training tonight!" He replies and I definitely remembered that we were training tonight.

  Guess I will take my time at work today, no sense in bothering them while they try to have fun.

  I make my way to my favourite building... well one of the coolest looking at least and enter into its halls to find and knock on it.

  "Enter" The Hokage calls and I do so.

  He stops writing and looks at me curiously.

  "So, I must confess that I learnt some more unsupervised" I tell him and he nods.

  "Nothing bad happened?" He asks.

  "No, just forgot to report to you and did it before asking is all- nothing bad just some shifter training" I tell him and shift around my features to make my broader and bigger body, I then shape the cws before creating a monkey tail.

  "That's, New" He replies.

  "Yeah- pretty cool and I am pretty sure I can do so much more with it as well" I say and shrink down, keeping my tail as I have grown quite used to it.

  ...

  I cant keep it outside can I?

  "Well, if you are sure about the safety in which you learn I cannot force you to come here every time, I suggest adding the number of potentials reached in your monthly verbal reports to me- but if you feel a potential much like that blood cocoon, best understand that you come to me, understood?" He asks.

  Sweet- free reign to learn safe things!

  "Understood sir" I reply.

  "Now go and have a rexing weekend, enjoy it" He smiles and I smile back before leaving.

  That covers my next two dips into the orange box for now and solves my challenge problem.

  I know I don't have to tell him... he just keeps helping me and I feel bad for letting him down you know?

  Right, I can get another scroll in after work, I should be clear to use them in my office as no one goes in there and if they do I can just say Ryū jutsu- which is a bad expnation but what else could it be to anyone peaking in?

  I make my way to a private location and shift into Ryū- I change my clothes and then leave to find my office in the T&I building- I enter and weave through the halls before sitting down at my desk and looking at the much tidier room.

  Now to add more stacks of nonsense into this, the paper work is much less tedious than before especially because I can see what's happening in this room and it is all sorted.

  ...

  *Knock*

  Someone knocks on the door and opens it I listen as two men shuffle in, one bound and being dragged.

  "Is this the new sub department?" I hear someone say.

  "Yes, I am Ryū the head of this sub department, apologies for my rudeness but who may be my guests?" I ask.

  "Ibikio Morino- come with me" He says and I get up to follow immediately, this is the big boss right?

  I limp beside him as I hear someone struggling to break free from his bindings.

  "Sir may I ask what you need me for?" I ask with concern.

  "Performance review, no one stays employer here unless I approve of them understood" He replies tacitly and I nod.

  We eventually arrive at a holding cell with a single chair in the middle, I watch as my boss takes his time binding the man to the chair.

  "Okay- this man was an Oorochimaru spy, get him to talk and you pass" He says and gestures to the man.

  ...

  Torture... I mean- I was prepared for it when I got this job, just didn't expect to do it so soon.

  "Okay then... may I ask you for your name, the [truth] would be nice" I say as I enter the cell.

  *Spit*

  He spits at my shoe and I sigh... he is practiced against torture and probably trained by Oorochimaru to some extent.

  What can I do that is more terrifying than what would happen if Oorochimaru caught wind of his squeaking?

  I pull out a bit of ninja wire and light it with orange cackling energy.

  "You think that scares me?" He mocks as I approach.

  "You have a limp and are blind, what fool would tell you anything?" He chuckles.

  Trying to stay superior even in the chair, someone who points out my weaknesses in search of his strengths.

  I don't speak as I hold his wrist and pce the end of my ninja wire into his veins... I then start pumping energy.

  "You-" He begins to speak but I stomp his foot and continue.

  I am trying so hard to focus on having that energy punp into his veins... if I lose focus he suddenly pops with all the sudden energy not having a direction.

  "Name please" I ask kindly.

  "Fuck off" He squirms in his bindings.

  He should be feeling a small tingle throughout every vein in his body, nothing too terrible.

  I use mana shaping to control my mana and have it travel across every corner of his blood system- I pull my wire away and pce it back into my pack.

  I then walk out of the cell and give a thumbs up.

  "AAAHGGGGG- AKAKAK- STOP THAT!" He yells.

  "I'm going to walk away, the further I go the less control I have over that chakra, the closer to painful death you will be" I say.

  "Wait- you cant kill me! You need me! Tell him!" He begs Ibiki.

  "Sorry bud, the second you were chosen to test the new guy is the second you became useless to this department, fact is that you have nothing to offer us- else you would be under his hands and not mine" I say calmly as I walk down the hallway.

  "WAIT- WAIT- AHAJAJAHCJXJXK" He screams out.

  "Sorry for being so slow, limp and all that" I chuckle as his screams get louder.

  "Arata! My name is Arata!" He yells out and I stop.

  I sit still and focus so his pain goes down.

  "Is that good enough?" I ask.

  "The pig has a few more squeals in him" Ibiki says and I nod my head before walking again.

  "What! No- What do you want!?" He yells.

  "That's for you to figure out!" I yell back and slowly march down the hallway.

  "PLEASE! I DONT KNOW ANYTHING!" He yells.

  Figures, torture is a bad way to get information from someone, tricks and traps are usually the go to.

  "What does Oorochimaru know! What have you told him!?" I yell back and continue walking.

  "I- I JUST GIVE HIM PATROL ROUTES! NOTHING ELSE!" He yells even louder.

  I turn to Ibiki and hear him shrug, waving his hand to call it off.

  I walk back and focus my lightning mana to seep out of his body safely.

  "Good enough- you pass but barely, keep up good work and we will review you and your employees at the end of the year" Ibiki pats my back and opens the door to grab the guy.

  He then drags him down the hall as the man faints from relief of pressure.

  ...

  I take a breath and limp back to my office, that was intense and very stressful, now I have to ensure my sub department does well all year or I could sentence my entire team to the genin corps.

  I open my door and close it behind me as I sit down and start scanning through my documents again.

  Right... back to this, I need to prep for next weeks missions which will be a few team ones as we poke around cold cases... boring stuff and then training on top of that.

  Wait- oh... okay, so I manage and hire the people training us three as a team, the Chunin and Jonin in need of cash and has a good amount of spare time.

  What should I schedule for them? Kanata is on a roll and actually has too much on his pte... Katsuko needs experience more than training... Kurenai is making sure she is trained fully so getting someone for her may be less than helpful.

  What about me? I cant learn normal jutsu from anyone and am learning two very unique fighting styles...

  Damn.

  Ill let Kurenai know about this and she can tell me if she sees something we need to learn, maybe I will schedule a few basic investigation lessons.

  I will write a letter and have me or the other two hand it over next time they see her.

  -That afternoon-

  Pov: Naruto

  "Hey Shikamaru, did you just come over to sleep!?" I ask.

  He rolls over and yawns before picking up his cards.

  "I fold" He says and chucks the cards at the pile.

  ...

  "We are pying Go fish..." Choji says.

  "Oh right, did the rain stop?" Shikamaru gets up and looks outside.

  "Nope, was really looking forward to napping by the river" He says.

  "Arf!"

  "Yeah shame we cant go fishing, do have anything else that's more fun than... just cards?" Kiba questions.

  ...

  Well... most the stuff we get is temporary prank stuff and its too stormy today to even attempt that- Kenzo keeps a bunch of training manuals and boring books.

  My house is a sad excuse for a pce to hang out at- I didn't want to disappoint these guys... but cant help it I guess, cant control the weather.

  Cant believe I didn't read the newspaper today, I was stupid to not keep predicting the weather when Kenzo stopped genjutsu changing it.

  ...

  *step*

  "ARF!" Akamaru suddenly yelps and jumps as someone steps onto our stairs.

  "You alright buddy?" Kiba asks and pets his fur which stands on end.

  *Step* *Whine*

  Akamaru whines as the steps get closer and I tense up as the atmosphere gets colder- Akamaru tries to hide behind Kiba.

  *Knock* *Knock*

  ....

  I get up and open the door as everyone is concerned about Akamaru who looks like he is about to either attack whoever this is or run away.

  "Kenzo?" I open the door.

  "What's got you all tense?" He asks as he shakes off a dolr store umbrel and pces it at the entrance.

  "Hello all of you, sorry for interrupting but I need to steal something from under my bed" Kenzo smiles and walks to his bed before taking out his safe and digging through it.

  "What's the pups name?" He asks as he flicks through some folders.

  "Akamaru" Kiba answers warily.

  "Is he alright...? He doesn't sound so well, if you need me to get anything or notify your parents to pick you up- or walk you home I can" Kenzo tells us.

  "No thanks dude..." Kiba says and pats Akamaru to calm him down.

  "No worries then, enjoy your stay" Kenzo says and walks outside, I follow him.

  "Hey Kenzo- before you leave do you have any bored games at all or maybe something other than cards?" I ask him.

  "Why would I have something like that hidden? I can go buy something for you guys- wait, why don't you try some study sessions?" He asks.

  "Studying is boring" I reply.

  "Psh- nonsense, your just a boring studier- try making a game out it" He says and unfurls his umbrel to go down the stairs.

  "Come on Kenzo, can you help me out here? They look like they are going to go home any second dattebayo!" I beg.

  "Ask an interesting question to spark more conversation, then get out of your head and just enjoy the moment" Kenzo says and walks off.

  What's an interesting question!?!?

  I walk back in and see that Akamaru has rexed, so it was Kenzo who was making him afraid...

  "What... was up with Akamaru, that was odd" I ask the group and they nod their heads.

  Damn they are so glum, how do I make this mood brighter? An interesting question... what's interesting and cool, something about the Hokage? No, that's a me thing- how about ninja stuff?

  ...

  That feels like studying, man I am bad at this.

  "What a drag- hey Naruto, what's up with your brother, he is the same age as us but acts more like my dad with how he treats us" He asks.

  "Oh that's just Kenzo being himself, into older dies and all that" I nod my head.

  "Oh right, I heard about that- is he the same age? Akamaru doesn't get scared by nobody's" Kiba decres.

  "Damn right he doesn't, my brother is stronger, better and Konoha's Monster Dattebayo" I smirk.

  "I don't think monster was a complement" Choji adds.

  "He certainly thinks it is" I respond.

  "No but seriously, how did he get that name? I heard he hurt many people at the hospital... and with how Akamaru just acted" Shikamaru grimaces.

  "Oi! That was an accident that got turned into a big story, my brother is as kind as Iruka-sensei on a good day" I reply.

  "Sure, sure- what cool jutsu can he do?" Kiba asks.

  "He can... well he cant perform the basics of any jutsu, but he can outperform anyone with genjutsu! Just nothing else, he is learning how to shapeshift I think he called it, he turned his hands into bone cws which were cool- Oh and he has this amazing ability to hear anything happening around him, he heard me writing and perfectly guessed what I wrote the other day!" I ramble on for a while as the storm continues through the night.

  I stopped thinking and started enjoying the moment, hours pass as we converse about the mystery that is Kenzo.

  "Wait- really? He did that! I was so focused on finding that treasure- damn, I really thought I could get rich from how difficult those were" Kiba groans in annoyance as he admits to keeping the clues of our treasure hunt prank and trying to deduce where the treasure is.

  "Yep- me, him and Ino decided to celebrate his graduation with that!" I decre proudly.

  "Ino? Oh right, she had a major crush on him didn't she" Choji says and nods his head wisely.

  "Psh- still does, she doesn't talk about him but if you bring him up her eyes brighten by ten times, how troublesome" Shikamaru adds.

  "Ha! Is she going dye her hair grey if she cant get him~" Kiba chuckles out.

  "Nah, even then Kenzo wont accept, he is weird with how he views himself older than us- like we are still babies compared to him" I sigh in annoyance.

  "He treats you like a toddler?" Choji asks.

  "Yeah, unfortunately he is always helping me- but one day I will be able to help him out! When he gets a dream that is" I shake my head.

  "He doesn't have a dream? What does that mean?" Kiba asks.

  "Ehhh... he just cant think of one, like a big goal for him to chase- he is happy making sure I am happy though, helps me train and all that" I say simply.

  "Makes spars ten times more interesting! Still cant beat me though~" Kiba cheers and Akamaru barks.

  "Oh yeah- just wait till he teaches me something cool, I am sure he has some secret move that could demolish you!" I reply confidently.

  "Psh- as if, he middled in school we talked about this like fifteen minutes ago" Kiba retorts.

  "Akamaru would beg to differ- didn't seem so confident in front of him" I respond.

  "Arf!" Akamaru nods.

  "Wait- your meant to be on my side! I could totally beat Kenzo" He cims.

  "Arf! Arf!" Akamaru seems to almost ugh at that.

  "Ha- seems your dogs smarter than you Kiba~" I ugh.

  Choji chuckles with me and Shikamaru smiles as me and Kiba start to brag about ourselves and our family, he goes on about the Inuzuka cn and I cim Kenzo better.
