She awoke at 0500 to her alarm, and got up. She did her business, got dressed, and was out by 0520. She was in the meeting room by 0530, along with the rest of the members of the meeting. They were all officers, with some Command Sargents and a singular Warrant Officer. The Colonel spoke up.

  "Everyone's early. Excellent. The meetings starting now then. So, to reiterate, we will be going over much of everything today to outline what will be happening in our theater of war. Command has, as always, given us the broad strokes." She began.

  "They are thus. The enemy is expected to arive within 2 months. We are dragging reinforcements to the planet, and we have in our theater, 1 armored Brigade, and 2 infantry infantry brigades. We also have 1 air Brigade with its associated support. We also have 1 artillery support unit to be split and directed where ordered." She said.

  "Brigadier General Gifford had set the battleplan." She said, and showed a map of the area of operation. "There are three cities here, now called city 1/2/3 respectively. We will focus on these two here. They are far better positioned for defensive action then city 3. City 3 has been fully evacuated, and General Gifford has hopes of detonating a sub surface nuclear bomb to eradicate any hostiles in city 3's AO." She said.

  "We will be split on city 1/2, as well as the Air brigade. Each city gets a full infantry brigade, and we will be supporting them. Our objectives are to delay as long as possible outside the city proper. Any questions?" She asked.

  No one spoke, so she continued. "We split into two groups. Alpha and beta. I will lead Alpha, and Lieutenant Colonel Hendric will lead beta. An even split on everything, with full command authority to the Lieutenant Colonel for group Beta. Lieutenant Nivka, your Alpha. Your vehicles are untested and I would prefer to keep an eye on them. Now, any questions?"

  The meetings participants asked about supplying each group, they politely asked if the nuke idea was real, and so on. The meeting wound down at 0750, and we all left for breakfast. Some left for their offices, but Nivka returned to find her fireteam.

  Alpha would be heading out to City 1 in a week, and she had to teach and re-teach some things to the greenies. They were in for a time, but everything would help them in the name of survival.
