C32

For seven days Nivka drilled her fireteam. She drilled them in standard operating procedures, how to talk to senior nco's without getting a boot in the ass, and more.

The drills they did with their mechs were three-fold. Sleeping and waking in them, emergency exit and fire drills, and emergency maneuvering.

Sure they had done some of this in limited amounts, but the training was short and she saw some areas where they lacked. So, she had set up a training regime.

They slept in their mechs, woke up to a blaring alarm that ment you were about to or are getting hit and need to emergency fuck off, and then dry frie drills after maneuvers.

Later we would do bailout drills, sometimes just running away, sometimes exit and firing at random targets. But they also just did target practice and PT to keep in shape.

On the 7th and final day, she met with her new direct superior. Captain Jack of 1st company Second Battalion. Their company had been gifted with heavy armor, and now that she had joined it, they had both AA and scouting.

Their company of 15 M850's and 3 MK9's would be first out as we would be the slowest, and thus would set the columns pace.

Each of her fireteam would be split between a group of 5 heavy tanks, equipped with AA missiles and their gun of choice (it wasn't their choice, they were all equipped with 40's). Their job would be to protect the tanks and give fire support.

This was shaping up to be an easy enough campaign, if all they needed to do was guard. Oh sure, they would likely go to where the fighting was thickest, but she honestly expected that anyways.

Plus, there were worse things then Heavys at your back.
