On the first day of Laura's training, she and her father stood in the high-level sparring room, with one huge boulder sitting in front of them.
Jermaine then gives an instruction.
"Your goal is to be able to break this boulder in just a single punch, you don't need to do it all in one try, there are boulders on standby for if you break one in more than one."
Jermaine directs Laura to hit the boulder.
She puts everything she has into the blow, only leaving a small divot the size of her fist in the side of the boulder.
Jermaine chuckles.
"The thing is, the boulders are all heavily reinforced and impact resistant."
Jermaine walks up to the boulder and taps it with his knuckle, instantly sending tremors through the entire room, as well as turning the boulder to nothing but dust.
"I'll have another boulder in here soon for you."
"Also sorry for showing off, don't try doing that, bad standards to hold yourself to."
After two days of training, Laura breaks her first boulder, with a total of six hundred-seventy five punches.
Laura spends the night with ice on her bruised and blistered knuckles, barely able to sleep through the soreness and pain.
A week later, James visits Laura while she's training on her third boulder.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
He sits in the corner while Laura punches away at the huge boulder in front of her.
Meanwhile, Jermaine and Warren are speaking in a separate room.
Warren starts a new conversation.
"I'm not gonna lie, I didn't expect the boy without an Aspect to end up being one of the most interesting recruits of this batch."
"Especially not one like him."
Jermaine looks regretful.
"Shame we lost Aidan in exchange though, he showed a lot of promise, almost more than you when you were that age."
"He had the drive too, no one else in the group has that type of mindset to be something great."
"We need someone like that, who really wants to be remembered in history."
Warren chuckles.
"Well, there's always hope."
As Warren finishes his sentence, Laura breaks the new boulder after just two hundred punches.
The final blow was detected by Warren and Jermaine as a strangely high output attack.
Warren makes his way to the training ground, curious to what happened.
As Warren walks into the grounds, he sees two separate, large reserves of aura, one in each of Laura's fists.
Warren chuckles, looking almost skeptical.
He then puts up a thick barrier, encouraging Laura to break it.
Laura's punches ring out like explosions, though not breaking the barrier.
Laura, clearly zoned into the barrier and destroying it, is then stopped when Warren grabs her fist, balancing out her Aura through her body, and bringing her back into reality.
Warren grins.
"Interesting."
"Try replicating that."
Jermaine then comes in with a new boulder on his shoulders.
He drops the boulder, rumbling the entire room.
Warren chuckles as Jermaine walks by.
"You're gonna wanna see this, man."
James then follows Warren out the door of the training grounds.
Jermaine watches as Laura lays into the boulder, and as her Aura seems to well in her fists.
As her Aura concentrates at her fists, her blows become louder and more powerful.
She breaks the boulder in fifty punches while Jermaine watches.
Jermaine then walks off to get another, amazed by the growth rate.
In the final days of her training, Laura breaks the boulders down into rocks with just singular punches.
Laura, now used to the pains, walks to the meeting point in the Courtyard on her own,
